Best wishes for tomorrow @moyra. Here, for Driving License renewal, you have to have a Doctor's Certificate at ages 65, 70, 72, 74, etc. Basically it is general health, what do you take, blood pressure, eye test. T'other Half went for his Monday. Doctor does it on line now.

 

Good morning….. the rain and wind is still with us , think I’ll give my parents a visit today as we can’t do anything in the garden, we was going to sand the decking down then paint it while we where off, never mind we have got two weeks off at the end of August, hope your all ok?

Morning everyone, ,we are currently under the spell of Evert and a weather warning. The winds are noisily picking up speed as it moves across the south coast this morning, now at 43mph and rattling the windows.

In Yorkshire I used to complain that I hated winter because I woke up every couple of days ...
Lanjarón, after dozing gently for months, is now preparing to pull the duvet over its head and sleep soundly for a couple of weeks. Shops will present blank dark faces to the few pedestrians, a search will be necessary to locate the one bar open that day, and those with a cortijo on the campo will get back to Nature.
Long semi-fluorescent winding lines of walkers will string out along the mountain tracks, and large parties will wander through my garden as I eavesdrop shamelessly on their exclamations of delight, and round up the occasional strays.
Someone who walks unchallenged through the lower garden is my neighbour, who lives across the canyon, and needs to take a short cut. He let a fire on his land get out of hand last April, and it was close to setting the whole mountain on fire. He was subsequently fined three thousand Euros, and having a very light footprint in the world of Capitalism he will not be able to pay. He is keeping a very low profile, hence perhaps his short cut -- but he needs to feed his massed choir of stray dogs which entertains his neighbours at all times of day and night. Some sort of community service may eventually be imposed, but sweeping the street might not go down too well with a man used to hunting wild boar in the Sierras.

Good morning all shiny sorry to hear you had to go to a funeral, I had to go to my Aunties funeral last year and we where all stood outside shivering, hope your able to help your friend, sad that they are still together if they don’t get on anymore .
