Hi @Michael Hewett not at all my friend keep them coming they are easy on eyes:smile:

Being head gardener at Cobham Hall I spent most of my working life enveloped in formal gardens which decided me to take the opposite direction at home;)

Not at all bored with viewing them, if anything it's lovely to see all the different cultivars available Michael, always nice to learn more about a genus I'm unfamiliar with! I only grow 'Mrs Popple' (and that one not very successfully :heehee:), would be nice to find another pollinator-friendly one to complement it in my garden. :)

Thanks @Nikolaos there are many hardy Fuchsia varieties to be had. My hardy ones are not flowering much yet, they are always slow.
I wonder why your Mrs Popple isn't doing very well. Fuchsias like a bit of shade and moisture. Maybe it's in the wrong position.

I don't want to put old photos of ones I've lost on here but maybe I'll make an album with them.

Well I know part of the reason, I haven't bothered to prune it this year! I'm not sure why it didn't do well last year as I did prune it, but it may well be a lack of sun after reading about it more. The spot it's in only gets about 3 hours of sun. A lot of sources say they do fine in fairly shady spots, but the RHS disagrees... :dunno:

My experience @Nikolaos is that they like sunshine but not too hot and dry, and they also do well in partial shade. I have some that only get an hour or two of sunshine in the late afternoon and they seem to enjoy growing there.
Maybe it would benefit from a feed ?

Far be it from me to get involved in a fushcia discussion, I don't have very many and what I do have is mostly left to their own devices, but I think there is sunshine and again there is sunshine.

Around here a can imagine they would like a sunny spot this year, but last year probably shade.

That's one of the things that has really amazed me in the last couple of years, the difference between the upper and lower end of part shade and everything in between, it's incredible how even an extra hour of sunlight here and an hour less there can make such a difference to a plant's condition.

That's a lesson learned here for sure. Also, when something says Full Sun, they are NOT talking about Southern Portugal by any means. Six to eight hours full sun can easily fry things here. :frown:

I'm willing to guess that when it comes to add it up, (I cant do that), we will have had only about two thirds of the hours of sunlight this summer compared to last year.
It really has been a bad one here, and there doesn't appear to be much different coming along in the way of sustained sunny warm weather.

If the weather pattern doesn't change we could be in for a nasty winter.

It wont be long before the jet stream starts firing up all the old ex hurricanes from the tropics.
