Solved Furry plant

Hi we have this plant in our garden that seems to be growing big all I can say is that its furry but no idea what it is or what is eating the leaves I have looked for slugs snails but nothing.. Any idea thanks

 

Digitalis purpurea...common name Foxglove?

Ooh those leaves are large.
Too large for foxglove.
Think we need to wait until it develops a flower stem.
Symphytum...maybe.????

 

I may be coming round to Inula magnifica.
Time will tell when it flowers.

Just compared pentaglottis, borago, arctium and symphytum leaves and I now agree with symphytum. Must get round to removing some of these.....god knows why I decided to plant them, the hairy stems and leaves are a total irritant!
I think it was back in the day when I was experimenting with different types of compost tea

 

Hi thanks for your reply what ever the plant is critters are very hungry and having a good meal but can't see anything like slug or snail

 

Try going out at night with a torch.
Look on back of leaves as well as the ground underneath.
Many critters prefer to eat in private at night.

Hi I think I found a bug not sure but very tiny and on beside this furry plant I was asking about.. If bug I found it on the yellow plant beside it..
