Couldn't see through all the dust etc. :noidea:

I've popped out each time they were the other side of the field, about a mile away, and picked 12lb of beans. They're back this side now and it reminds me of the good old London smog :hate-shocked:

Started in earnest on the jungle walk. Quite weary now so relaxing in bath with beer and jazz before the family return later...

Played checkers with the hanging pots and decided to make new hangers for some. I've started using 100or so pound fishing line to make them. They seem to be to be a little more transparent than the plastic ones. Then put in more waterlines to the pots that got added to the lineup.

Worked on some of the electrics in the greenhouses to keep the fans running. Serviced the lines for the electric fence. Zappers are now solar charging up for another day's battle.

Picked some more blueberries but nearly coming to an end. Also some blackberries, the thornless variety.

Been out cutting the nettles and other rubbish down the side of the garden. Off back out soon to rake up, tidy up and repeat along the back fence. At the end of the day I will be able to see the cyclamen along that bank as they hit peak flower.

We must have different types of blueberry, I just started picking this week. They are very prolific this year :-)

Yesterday cut the grass in the back garden and cut the edges then did some weeding under the plum trees.

Picking crops takes a fair time each day now. Fruit picking has now been added to the veg picking. A slow careful pick of blackberries (our bushes are 70 years old and very vicious), and picked 30lb of golden plums/gages with a lot more to pick.

I also cut back an area of Lychnis that is 20ft x 30ft and moved it to near the bonfire ready to be burnt. Whilst I was doing that Mrs Shiney was cutting back some of the Leycesteria formosa which has gone mad this year. She filled two wheelie bins with it and the woodier stems will go on the bonfire. She also cut down most of the Veronicastrum that have finished flowering with just the biggest to go (7ft high and 6ft diameter). :phew:
