Not a cricket fan, and maybe real cricket fans dont like it, but has anyone been watching this 100 stuff.
Its something different and I think a breath of fresh air for cricket.

    Men's final coming up now.

The half time "entertainment" is just slightly tacky.
Looks very amateurish, must look very small and tiny from the other side of the field, plus its crap.

My son and i have discussed this a few weeks ago, he does not like all the hype and graphics. However, at the moment its quite cheap for a ticket and aimed at younger children.
I think they should have kept the 6 balls an over, but then it would be just a T-20

I also think it will have done a lot for womens cricket , and also improved the players skills generally , also providing a platform for new players to be noticed.

I don't follow cricket to much, my son does and he says these short games have improved fielding in tests etc

To encourage children and families into cricket - then they tickets need to be much cheaper. I think my son paid around £125 a ticket for the england 1 day at lords and the test is around £200 a ticket.

Children really need to play at school, as my understanding is a lot of schools (certainly when my children went to school , did not offer cricket) my other half used to teach in a private school and they did have cricket on , and the children enjoyed playing.

            Well cricket does need modernising.
Must admit I thought it was a bit Americanised, but that's how things are these days.

They are trying to make it more of a family event and I think it needs to settle a bit and maybe evolve .

Yeah I was thinking it had a kind of baseball look about it.

At least they are going all out for runs and not all that messing around and aimless wandering around that goes on in the old game.
Not really watched any T20 but assume it's similar then.

Yes , instead of 100 balls its 20 overs 120 balls, T20 sometimes called "White Ball" cricket

Just without all the hype , noise and cheap tickets, would be easy to modify to appeal to kids and families with Franchised teams, as i say IPL has full capacity and loads of noise, fancy dress , loud horns and i think a DJ

Franchised a 20 Over, game so 120 balls each side, one day game - same as The Hundred only 120 balls instead of 100, although bowling 2 sets 10 balls i think is proving a bit of a challenge , IPL has been going for a few years now

it Used to be on Channel 4 , I think around April / May time, when i watched and followed maybe 2016/17

But i think its only on sky now

I enjoy reading this topic, so far I have understood perhaps 15%. Cricket in general is fascinating, lads in totally impractical whites stand on a field for days, nobody wins and at some point everyone goes to eat some cucumber sandwiches. Brilliant!

                    Sorry, please carry on.

Good afternoon just as long as they have all got a beer tent and a comfortable chair to have 40 winks and the sound of leather striking on willow that will do for me:heehee:

Yeah agree, but my point is this is different cricket, its more about scoring runs in a set amount of time and balls.
You get some real entertainment and some big sixes.

The T20 games are very much the same
Free Hits, Five Run penalties , 75 min Time limit for bowling , bowlers limited to 4 overs, 90seconds for a batsman to change , fielding restrictions apply , Bowlouts if a tie
Apart from the general Hype, 5 balls a set and bowlers only allowed to bowl 20 balls - its very much the same.

So its also about scoring as many runs as possible in 120 balls 20 overs 6balls an over within 75minutes

the IPL had some very exciting games
