Well done. I quit last year, woke up on my daughters 16th birthday with a terrible cough, so bad it made me sick. Decided it was time to quit after 40 years of smoking or I might not see many more of my daughters birthdays.

I normally fluctuate between 65-67kg but I soon went up to 72kg. Back down to 68kg now I have stopped buying savour snacks, was buying Seabrooke worcester sauce and pickled onion crisps which I would wolf down with a nice cheese board.

      Hi,

Whilst at the surgery for the first time in twelve years the practice nurse measured and weighed me then suggested I put some weight on; my BMI whatever this is was 19?

I jokingly said that it must be rare to suggest someone put weight on; I've been 10st 2lbs since leaving school aged 15 and I'm six feet tall.

I'm dairy intolerant so I'm Soya powered; with no extra weight I skip around better than many half my age.

I've just enjoyed a mug of de-caf tea with Soya no sugar and scoffed some 90% cocoa cholcolate; time to get the big cow horn strimmer out and tackle the meadow wildflowers which have been flattened by our dire climate.

Good luck to all you slimmers; don't overdo it or you'll end up like me being careful stepping off a pavement in case I disappear down a drain.

      Kind regards, Colin.

I thought, if your BMI is between 18.5 and 25, then your weight is classed as being healthy.
I think my BMI was about 22 on my last annual medical check up.

I used to be called "stick insect" amongst other nicknames I was called at school..:heehee:

            Hi,

Thanks gks; it was suggested I put weight on; I keep away from the surgery as much as possible. I too am a stick insect; if I stick my tongue out I look like a zip. Many years ago a chum at worked commented I looked like I'd been through a famine; I replied he looked like he'd caused it. Four eyes too was a regular name I was called at school; we just stopped calling names as we eventually grew up. :mute:

            Kind regards, Colin.

                    Looking good. :dbgrtmb:

It is too hot to do anything outside ... not that there is anything to do! :rolleyespink: We played some Skip Bo (he won) and then Backgammon (I won). At 5pm will go sit outside in the shade of the house till dinnertime and admire the vista.

I called into my opticians as the nose pad had come off, kind lady said she will replace both and suggested I could pop in to have it done every 6 months free.
Went to barbers and while getting the itchy bits of I caught my glasses and broke the arm, as it was I had a spare pair in the car and after working out how they fasten ( no screws ) I fixed them myself to save an embarrassed return to opticians

Listening to Carob picking. There are Carob trees (Ceratonia siliqua) in the orchard behind us and they have pickers in to harvest the Carobs. They do this by putting a tarpaulin on the ground and beat the trees with sticks/poles, as they do with Olive trees. Carob is an alternative to chocolate and you have Carob Cake on restaurant menus. It is very good.
