        Changed The Reading Room to K3 - Kitty Kat Korner - because Munch and Van spend every afternoon there snoozing. I had some cut out wooden cats from when I did Craft Fairs as Pets & Petals so Jim painted one Black Gloss and I added a diamante collar in gold and a green diamante eye. It is top left on the trellis.

          Awww love the cat Vicky...looks a lovely place to retreat to.
          What's the tallish multi coloured blooming plant in the last pic? Looks a bit like a Christmas tree, shape wise !!:)

            Upsy, it is the three giant Mandevillas put in one pot. Apparently they can go 10-15 feet and they are only about 6 feet now so they will have to drape down ... more "weeping" things. :heehee:

              @Victoria ,

              The Trellis certainly adds to your beautiful garden,..very striking black cat,..the Egyptian Goddess of Cats would be proud of your cat,..she was called 'Bastet' :cat-kittyandsmiley:

                Thank you Philip. There was a problem in that we could not get the curved top trellis so had to make do with the square. I did suggest to T'other Half that he could easily modify by cutting the corners off ... but that went down like a lead balloon. :frown:

                Well I never! That is, heard of Bastet so looked her up. I have dozens of cat ornaments, mostly wood, but I have one of a black Egyptian cat which I assume is Bastet given to me by my nephew 25+ years ago. Our bedroom is Egyptian themed and have a bronze cat on top of my mirror. I made this Egyptian padded tapestry for over the headboard (the ceiling is five meters on that wall)..

                    :roflol:,..Oh Victoria you have me laughing out loud here with 'but that went down like a lead balloon',..what a death to a good suggestion :whistle:.

                    Wow and :wow: to that tapestry,..its awesome,..now that i would hang where i would see and admire it at every glance,..now i am also delighted to see that @Upsydaisy loves it and is another lover of Egyptology.

                    Ah yes the goddess 'Bastet' was thought so highly of,.. that most Egyptians were entombed with a mummyfied cat,..i wounder did your nephew who gave you that black cat some 25+years ago give it because you loved cats,..and did he know about 'Bastet'.

                    My two Cents to your Thread and your tapestry,..he watches in my sittingroom :)

                      I must clarify something here that may be misleading ... the wall hanging is not "embroided" as I am not that clever, it is printed material with a fibrefill inard and I overstitched to quilt it, backed by cream material. The colour is also slightly more subdued than the photo.

                      Yes, my nephew knew we were cat lovers when he went to visit us in Buckinghamshire. He bought it in Oxford. Your statue is slightly spooky. I used to have a statue of Nefetiti but it got lost in moves in America. Not Egyptian but I have a statue of Venus de Milo (I think in the loft).

                      Not a good photo but this is a hanging crystal lamp in the corner of the bedroom (the ceiling is about 3.5 meters) and you can see my carved Camel ...

                      Sorry, a bit blurry.
