At my last work place someone put their keyboard in a dishwasher to give it a clean, then came along to the IT dept to complain it had stopped working!

Did they actually own up to doing that when they spoke to the IT department.

Yes they did say what they had done and couldn't understand why it was bad. Needless to say that individual visited the help desk more than a normal person.

          Okay, @JWK , that's a new one. I thought I'd heard it all... :thud:

Getting tired of picking up rotting apples. Our neighbour behind has an apple tree that the previous owner had cut out the core section and now it is extremely tall and spreads across over the back of my yard. And keeps dropping the apples. It is never treated and one branch is on the ground. Luckily their side because it is a large one - circumference about 14" and 20' in length.

Why can't people just get rid of things that they are unwilling to take care of properly!

@Victoria - if it is a separate keyboard, it would be easier to just go buy another one. I tried to clean a keyboard and had a horrible time getting the caps back on. The space bar still is hard to push. I would get a new keyboard but this one is in my laptop.

Never again will I do that :(

Next time I'll get a can of compressed air to blow it out!

No, it is a laptop / notebook. T'other Half was in IT at Chrysler/Renault Trucks for 23 years and has taken every known computer piece apart.

Ive got lots of bits of crisps, mostly, clogging up the keyboard on my laptop.
If they left bigger gaps between each letter it would be easier to clean out with a brush.

I think this is a message, we shouldn't eat whilst on the keyboard. Now I am going to have my tea and Jacobs cheese sandwich cracker.

Yes, he started with them January 1978 based in Dunstable. However he travelled all the UK and Ireland in charge of mainframes at dealerships.

From my experience laptops are notorious for failing keyboards - a bit like light bulbs - when one key goes the others swifly follow.

I have a back up laptop and use a usb dongle wireless keyboard - it works a treat - the laptop keyboard itself is broken.

I tend to go for Logitech keyboards - in fact I'm using one now - the K400+ - which has a built in mouse pad.

When we used to go I used to drive up there and we could park in Battersea Park for 1/- and just walk over the bridge.

@Victoria I agree. I cannot stand the pad and the latest version of windows only allows me to turn down the sensitivity rather than just shut it off!
@clanless :ideaIPB: I'll unplug a keyboard from one of my other computers and try it on the laptop. Thank you!

Yeah , never use that annoying pad on the laptop, always use a separate mouse.
