Thanks @Upsydaisy :blue thumb:. My back wouldn't be this bad if our friends hadn't been round and if I hadn't planned a complicated menu. Apart from me doing loads of prepping, cooking and washing up there was all the lugging everything over to the summerhouse as we were eating there because it was a bit too nippy under the pergola. Mrs Shiney wasn't able to help me as her knee was playing up. What made it worse was not having the best chair for my back, otherwise I may have been OK. The best chair is under the pergola (shared by myself and sarafi) and is a big leather executive office chair and too big and clumsy to get it into (and back out of) the summerhouse.

The only job I shall be doing in the garden today (and tomorrow) is picking runner beans as I have orders to fill. It only takes about 45 minutes each time as I don't need to pick French beans. :)

Ho dear, have you got some Anthisan cream ?, it’s for insect bites and will help reduce the swelling :spinning:

Hello Good morning from a comparative stranger now as I do not use the threads like I used to because of my poor eye sight. Thankfully having been a touch typist makes things a bit easier for me. I hope you are all good. @shiney, sorry you and H are suffering and hope you both will be better. Insect bites are a pain.
Have a good day everyone and stay safe and well. :wub2:

lovely to see you Moyra, I was getting worried there, hopefully you won’t have to wait long for your eye op then you won’t have any problems and hopefully be able to hop back in your car ……. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Upsdaisy keep a big box of tissues handy today, I’ll be thinking of you :imphrt:

                    Thanks,

We do have something here that we use but not sure what it is. There's very little in the way of swelling but it just forms very itchy blisters, most of which are about 2mm. Although it happens here most years we've not been able to identify what little nuisance (being polite) is causing the problem. I don't get any problem when traipsing through jungle or rainforest :dunno:

All of them?? Between 74- 80 miles away. Not far I know but too far really now for hubs to do the round trip in a day. Occasionally we have stayed with one of them but now with them all busy setting up their 1st homes ( 2 of them bought this year) and still somewhat lacking in furniture due to builders and major renovations plus they are all still working from home..so not a lot of free time at the moment. We always make sure to see them all when we do go up and of course that entails driving about through central London....not fun if you're not use to it!! Definitely not keen yet to use public transport up there, especially the tubes.
We'll see them again before / at Christmas so not long. :dbgrtmb:

I'm Mummy grumpy/ sad whenever they leave us, I should be use to it as they all left home at 18 to go to University...none local. None returned for any length of time after graduating and soon found jobs up in London.
So I should be use to these goodbyes after 18 years......but it doesn't get any easier. Hubs drops them off at the station, but I can never go with him , I just wave then off at the gate.
