86F in the shade in our main garden. About 10F lower in the veg plot. Too hot for working. All I'm doing is moving the sprinkler around. Gardening done before 8 a.m.

I got 30c but I think that was a bit high, it was pleasantly warm anyway, so not complaining.

The sky has been dark blue all day, which is not usual for this time of year even during warm spells.
Wind is in the south which is also very unusual for this year.:blue thumb:

Been a glorious summer's day in Battle today. Best enjoyed in the shade of a parasol but no wind and a warm evening to look forward to as well.
                      Better late than never.
Must go and top up the water in the bird bath,

If you call searing heat, howling Saharan winds and 6" cracks in the ground an unfair advantage, well, yes  Personally, I'd rather have a week of gentle rain and so would the plants!

We can do large cracks in the ground here too @noisette47 , and we're desperate for rain .

We are finally forecast some from late Wednesday evening, but on a closer look it could only be a few drops every now and then. Nevertheless we live in hope and all 7 water butts have been cleaned in anticipation! Bring it on!!!:rain:

Too hot this afternoon to do anything apart from sitting under the sun parasol and read. Still here now but not really needing the parasol .

It's still 20c out on the patio. Enjoying a peaceful cuppa; a robin is crooning, occasional bat flies across and, as it's Tuesday evening, the campanologists are ringing out their melodies from the church at the bottom of the high street, opposite the Abbey walls. The breeze is from the east and the bells' melodies are being carried nicely up the hill towards us.
A very special summer's evening indeed,
