More or less having the weekend off the garden. I had to dig out a front border as it's causing some damp issues so after removing the plants and bulbs etc and a tonne or two of soil, then replanting, I'm having a rest!

That's a good thing to do ! You can live your life properly for a while when you do that.

There's not much I can do in the garden at the moment, I am waiting for builders so there's going to be a mess :frown:

My day will be spent planting a 6 foot salix pendulous and knocking a stake in, we had one of those dwarf willows until two years ago when the rootstock took over it, hopefully this one will be more successful because I now know to remove rootstock growth and not let it grow thinking its a new willow

Saw the tree at a garden centre and changed the planting plan we had, then brought it home in the noddy car we have, that was fun, the tree, a large glazed plant pot and a few bags of manure

Good morning @Michael Hewett my friend and thank you for your concern its very much appreciated as always I think on reflection I shall offer the driver a small reward but it goes against the grain when Wickes already charge for delivery those were the days when I and the majority of others wouldn't even think about accepting payment for doing the job we were getting a wage for(Ex Gratia):old: I'll get off my soap box now sorry about that:heehee:

My challenge today is reuse some treated logs to form a border around a gravel bed, the ones that is there now is just timber baseboards and worse for wear, I guess by the time I have done that, the sun may have dried the lawn so I can cut the grass, that is the plan, unless I am distracted by other things to do

Knew it, I would be distracted, @wiseowl you have inadvertently given me a solution to the asters we have that suffered mildew and looked awful, replace them with novae-belgii, had to look up the name but found they fit the bill ! superb
