How about this for a match made in heaven.

Sept 15th is not only National Cheese On Toast Day , but dinner is sorted too as it's also National Linguine day. :dbgrtmb:

Two of my faves... Oh happy days!!

I'm glad you're going to enjoy today's menu @Upsydaisy
It's always cheese on toast day here - I have it nearly every day, I hate cooking and it's easy to make :dunno:

Cheese on toast is one of my favourites, at the moment I have it with a beefsteak tomato microwaved, delicious.

Other times I roast a few sesame seeds as a topping or put the cheese on top of a fried egg, which has a fancy french name but is dead easy.

How can you not love pasta Pete, it's so versatile and Greek and Italian food (two of my favourite cuisines) just wouldn't be the same without it! :yikes: One of my favourites is orzo, Greeks make a dish called Giouvetsi with chicken or lamb added to it. Pastitsio (or "Makarounia Tou Fournou" as we tend to call it in Cyprus) is amazing, hearty stuff in Winter! And Lasagne? Your tastebuds must be faulty, book an appointment with your GP immediately! :heehee::biggrin:

                    Giouvetsi - Spice Mountain

                    Pastitsio (Greek beef pasta bake)

Would add that English/British food is seriously brilliant too although it doesn't contain it, you can't beat a nice big plate of Kedgeree hot or cold! :blue thumb:

When our friends came over yesterday we served grated cheese with coriander and black pepper on flat wraps toasted under the grill. Yum.

Nick, I think I said before that I dont like to eat anything that hasn't got a taste, now they come up with all these different names for basically the same stuff, then have to make something else to flavour it, its then given a different name.

Apart from that, it horrible slimy stuff.
