WHAT ARE WE DOING IN THE GARDEN TODAY - 2021

Had 60 yellow crocus to pot up with 3 in each small pots and 30 purple crocus. I'll plant them in the garden in early spring where there are spaces.

Yes Michael I usually have spaces for them around the side of the front path, it gets a bit dry there.

 

Just taken some hard wood rose cuttings and used some rooting powder, but I don't think that they need it just making sure.

I don't know where I'll put them just thought that i would try, I've successfully did a rose graft on a rootstock that I did last year.

 

Roses root very easily without rooting compound if you just stick them in a pot and forget about them.

Not fit for much this morning, so just enjoying a cup of Redbush and doing some planting plans for next year. Hoping the meds will kick in soon so that I can be more ' hands on' by this afternoon.

Not doing anything here ... it is warm in the sun but cool in the shade. T'other Half has gone to meet friends for fish and chips, but I have declined to go having been out yesterday.

Finally planted all the wallflowers around the path, still got a lot left for other places and helped Hubby finish off the pyracantha hedge still got to put all the cuttings into the grey bin but do that tomorrow.

 

Picked another batch of Plums, checked on and watered the Blueberry( looking good ) and Lavendar cuttings . Watered and fed all the Citrus (Lemon and Oranges ).

Made real headway in deciding what to sow next Spring.....whether I achieve it is another matter.

Deadheaded the Japanese Anemone .

Cleared some fallers from around the Apple trees as they were attracting wasps.

Finally watered a few of the larger patio pots.

 

Do you have to feed them this time of the year?
Hrmmm to the rest ... wish I could even do half of that!

 

Yes It was their last summer feed, they'll start on winter feed next month. Probably require it because of our lack of sunshine I expect Vicky.

Have to admit it was a painful struggle but if I don't move every now and then my foot goes numb. .

The watering didn't take long and I only use the small watering can as I can't carry the ordinary ones when they are full.

I was mostly playing shuffle with the seed packets.

 

I didn't think you feed fruit trees in the winter, only at the beginning of the growing season.
