Looks good  - put up a pic of your summerhouse - so we can see it in situ. What size is it?

Not something I purchased but a gift from a client. She knows I like plants. I informed my son that they are fall annuals - he was eyeing them and I could see him thinking of putting the planter in his room!

Bought most of my autumn planting garlic, Germidour x6, Casablanca x6, French Red x8 and Provence Wight x5. Only waiting for my Messidrome to be delivered.

The Casablanca bulbs from Wilkos is the cheapest I've seen, three bulbs for £2.

On Friday past, the 24th I ordered six Abyssinian gladiolus (Acidanthera bicolor var murielae) from France ... and they arrived today, so off I go to find a pot ...

I was surprised actually, they are bigger than I thought.. I am angry though. Went out to plant them in a pot to discover my Peach Oleander which had nice new leaves had all been eaten away by ... snails!!! Here in the heat the little sods obviously came out of the trough with the Billbergia nutans ... I found three of them so into the orchard they went. I hope it will recuperate. I was so upset I promptly ordered a rooted one from Spain. The rooted ones were not available when I got the cuttings. It is a single one and I have ordered this double scented one ...

@Upsydaisy (or anyone else). I am not a "bulb" person so apologise for a silly question. The growth on these is "hooked" so do I plant them as normal with the growth then lying on the compost?

Hmmm...personally I would plant as normal as my thinking is that the roots will naturally go downwards and any shoots will naturally find their way upwards.....but I could be wrong! ;)

Whatever way their planted they will probably just sort themselves out, as long as they're not upside down!!!

                    But wait until others respond.....

I'd do as Upsy say Victoria , sometimes I put them on a very slight angle to encourage them to grow up, the bulbs will turn upright on there own in time. It very common to plant Crown imperial fritillaria bulbs on a 90 degree angle they come up fine.

Thank you Upsy and Perki. I planted them yesterday (couldn't wait :heehee::whistle: ) and pulaced them as normal. Thank you. I had them many years ago in the rockery but thought I would try a pot this time.

I went to my local garden centre to get some field beans and came home with this lot instead:
2 x hanging baskets (mine are falling apart) £3
                                2 x Dianthus Flutterburst 99p
                                2 x Dianthus Silverstar 59p
                                1 x lemon thyme 29p
                                1 x Silver Posie thyme 29p

For a grand total of £9.74
                                They had no field beans...
