On Saturday night at 10 p.m. I went shopping to the big Tesco on the industrial estate in town and the queue was almost a mile long. Fortunately I'm able to use the car park of a factory near there so drove all the way round the back and parked and then walked the quarter of a mile to the store. The staff told me that I was the only person they had seen in the last three hours! :rolleyespink: Also, the night shift were having trouble getting in.

One of the management said that the people in the queue are going to be disappointed because they've decided to shut the petrol station at 11 p.m. - in fifteen minute's time. I said that they should just wait a little bit until I had finished my shopping as I wanted to avoid the riots. :heehee: They had asked the police to send a patrol car.

Just got a text message from my doctors saying I'm due a flu jab.
I had one last week at the local pharmacy, and he put everything into the computer, saying that it was to update my surgery so that they will know I have had one.

In the text message it says, let us know if you have already had one.:rolleyespink:

You can call the surgery to let us know, or to book a slot.

Now calling the surgery is about the most difficult thing in the world, as the phone is always off the hook. It will be even worse now if people are trying to book jabs as well.

The NHS is falling apart, in fact I think the whole country is falling apart.
I've never know so many problems with so many things, even back in the 70s with the 3 day week things weren't falling apart like they are now.

To many incompetent people doing jobs they aren't capable of doing, but have the correct paperwork I think.

Searching for fuel cans I've found a 5L can of unleaded that I've worked out must be 16 years old. I know that stuff goes 'off' and causes rotorvators, strimmers, chainsaws, etc. to fail to start, and have previously put in our cars, but I'm wondering if this has gone too far or will be OK diluted with fresh stuff.

Also found a 5L can of diesel that must be at least 8 years old, does that stuff go off?

To be on the safe side I'd put it on Ebay for £50.
          No refunds or returns

I just frightened a poor little birdie. I feel terrible. I have a couple of phony birds that I used as a joke by putting them in my son's houseplants and since that time, I'd just moved them out to the greenhouse. One fell on the floor this morning so I put it back up on a rail. Just a few minutes ago, it had fallen again, just outside the greenhouse. So I picked up and walked in there. I was thinking that it was rather warm even though it wasn't laying in the sunshine.

Yup, it was a wee little grey/white/yellow bird. I yelped, opened my hand and it took off like a rocket.

I hope I didn't do it any harm

I'm wondering when those supermarkets where fuel queues obstruct access to their stores start restricting fuel sales to overnight as customers can't get into/out of their car parks during the day. We went at 7:00 am yesterday for a C&C and got out just before it became gridlock on their access roads and adjoing A road. Seen online that police are advising the public not to contact them about any petrol queue related problems as they don't want to know.

All the school buses round here have been csncelled due to the 'fuel shortage', probably adding thousands of parents' cars to the petrol station queues.

Good morning this is my local garage:dunno::smile:

This is a photo of my local garage that took delivery of 36,000 litres of fuel only LAST NIGHT!
Less than 24hours later, they've run out and are now frantically trying to get an earlier delivery than is scheduled.

If there's no shortage of drivers in the EU, why have Amazon started flying stuff into the UK?

My last 2 Amazon orders from Germany have both been sent by air, one to East Midlands Airport and another to Southend Airport. Previously they were trucked/ferried across The Channel.

you want to go into the petrol station, with sandwiches, and sit there for a while to see whether a big queue starts up behind you. :roflol:
