Following reports of food shortages in the media, shoppers went out and emptied the shelves :wallbanging:

Shelves empty across UK amid supply chain crisis

Or is it those working for the media putting all the stuff in trollies and pushing them around the corner to create a photo opportunity?

The vast majority of the media are very left-leaning (some extreme-left) that are all still nipping that they lost the Brexit referendum and are now hell bent on creating the crises that they warned would happen in project fear. They are desperate to be proved right, even if it means they are damaging themselves as well as everyone else. Sad beyond words.

I didn't think the Daily Mail was left leaning though.

Time to slap restrictions on the idiots.

The Daily Fail just want to be controversial at any cost - division is their thing, but yes I agree all of the media needs their wings clipped.

Of the 3 trolleys - 1 looks like a normal shop - b is from Costco (a wholesaler so would expect larger quantities) and the other is someone taking up an 'offer' on loo rolls.

The media - more specifically the beeb - have taken a massive credibility dive in my book - their recent article saying that Ivermectin is ineffective has proven to be utter nonsence. It's even worse because they receive their funding via a 'tax' - so there is no need to sensationalise news to gain audience. It's time they were kicked up the back side in terms of funding model.

I was thinking, more like slapping restrictions on idiot shoppers, you cant gag the press.
The old saying of being treated like "mushrooms" is becoming truer everyday.;)

Up until 2014/2015 maybe, I watched and listened to the BBC daily. I started my mornings with Rico from Hong Kong, then listened to Sarah Kennedy on the way to work, listening whilst at work all the way through Ken Bruce to Steve Wright on the way home then watched stuff usually on BBC1 (coz I is too thick to watch BBC2 ) before going to bed. Now, I don't watch or listen to them at all. Any interactions I have are snippets online and most of those are proving their bias or lies. Our national broadcaster.

True - the press need some sort of regulation though as they are stirring this up. It is almost a form of terrorism really.

I bought a couple of bags of walnuts in their shells in Morrisons last week.
I have got to say they are the best walnuts I have come across.
Very sweet and come out the shells easily.
                    Origin Chile.

We have the same problem over here with our CBC. But, I really believe a lot of the media were trained in university to be lefties, particularly in media studies. It was predominately the uni crowd who tore down statues of people who made decisions some 200 years ago instead of taking into account the times, and the lessons that were learned from these errors. And their ridiculous fawning over Greta really proves how they like to steer things. As was once said, "The media IS the news."

@pete I love walnuts in the shell. This way it takes longer to eat them and so I don't eat as many.

Finicky computer/printers. Moan. I spent an hour yesterday repairing the wireless set up between the computers and my printer. I don't know what happened but it was like starting from scratch. Although I do like this new printer. It is another eco tank unit and I love how long the ink lasts and the document feeder capacity :blue thumb:

I have had this - but in my case with wifi bulbs; sockets etc. I find that by rebooting the router they will automatically reconnect to the network. Worth a go if this happens again - re establishing the entire network only takes minutes - just enough time to enjoy a :coffee:.

He's a brilliant presenter and very personable. He moved to CNN Philippines to run their news content and to be their main anchor. I miss him. His place was taken by Sharanjit Leyl who is also a good reporter.

I met Rico last time I was in Singapore and he is very down to earth with no airs and graces. :blue thumb: His comment to me went something like "I report the news (after checking it) and don't make it up!".

He always came across as such a lovely, warm person. That is exactly the feeling that has been lost with the BBC now. It used to be 'auntie beeb' that folk relied on, turned to for comfort, entertainment and information. Now, all it does is make you want to put a boot through the screen.

They may well have something like a strobe light flashing on the detector in the room with a problem, but I would like to know which door when opened would cause my eyebrows to be singed.

I would hope that the systems with a remote used that device to indicate which sensor is causing the alarm, but wonder just how the elderly/confused/people with dementia/etc. would cope, especially as some systems use phone/tablets apps.
