This is actually good - I've not worn my watch in a couple of days to let this settle down. You should have seen it when I took it off, it was hellish, so that gives you a clue

Well, you're sure doing me a good turn as you will see from that wrist of mine. Only if you are sure, or at least will shout if I can return the favour at any stage.

That is really, really good - and it took Sudocrem to settle it back down to that. I wonder if it is partly because the circulation is shot in that arm (I have no radial pulse in that arm at all now) maybe causing the swelling and then in turn some sort of irritation/reaction. Every day when I take the watch off to charge it whilst I have my shower, the skin on that wrist will come up with nettle sting like bumps, then slowly settle back, hence me arriving where I did this morning. I am fed up with it. Hopefully the leather strap will sort me out :)

I use a wide elastic in place of a band on my watch. 1634306432843-85919573.jpg
If that didn't work, I would have made a band of cotton material to go under the watch band. The elastic makes it super easy to slide off and on. And yes, it IS a big watch. No reading glasses required

You discount the daintiness of Lori's delicate wrists ;)

Anyhoo, my wristwatches all have stainless steel straps, slightly loose fitting. Stainless steel is the only material, apart from gold, that doesn't promote any skin reaction even when the skin is sweaty or damp.

Funny you should say that. A fellow at the grocery made the same comment about it a couple of weeks ago.

I like my watches nothing to luxurious, I did buy an expensive watch ( expensive to me ) and now I don't wear cause I don't want to damage it :rolleyespink:. Spending so much on a strap @Nikolaos what's it attached to ?

My waist used to go greenish colour years , don't know if it were a reaction or something to do with the quality of metal in the watch

Do you wear your watch on your waist Perki? It must be the smallest waist.

@Perki Nothing particularly special mate, just a Tissot Heritage Visodate like this one in the link. Tissot watches at any price point are fantastic value for money IMHO, whether you're spending just under £300 or £3000.

                            Tissot Heritage Visodate Automatic

My next watch will probably be an Omega Seamaster or Constellation from the 1950s/60s, you can get some fantastic examples for about £1000-2000 but I think I would be just like that, on a night out to have some fun but always worrying about my bloody watch! :heehee: Which is why I've focussed on slightly more inexpensive ones in my collecting so far, like my Seiko SARB035, SARB017 and SNA411. I wear those 3 all the time on rotation and worried a bit to start with, but you get used to it. :dunno: What watch did you buy, Perki? :)

Lovely watch Nick. I love Vintage. I have a Gold Rolex Tudor 1952 but never wear a watch and haven't since I retired. Sad really.
