    Hi,
    I've just popped on for a quick visit. I wish I had more time but I'm so busy practicing playing my two violins and am now heading towards making a violin from scratch;

Fiddle talk - VIOLIN DISCUSSION FORUM - Playing the violin | LEARN TO PLAY THE VIOLIN FOR FREE!LEARN TO PLAY THE VIOLIN FOR FREE!

I'm glad I've popped on though because I'd like to wish you the very best with your assessment today Logan; what a wonderful Chrismas gift it would be for you to be able to see well once again and to enjoy your gardening to the full. Good luck.

    Kind regards, Colin.

A daytrip to Edinburgh. It's a lovely, lovely city and this time as I went all by myself (with the teenager waving me off and checking if I have my ticket, advising me not to spend all my money at once and looking a bit too pleased to have the house for herself for the day) I focused on my first visit on the botanical gardens.

What a wonderful place! The gardens are big, free and have such splendid trees and rock garden walk that I forgot to take many photos. The annuals and herbaceous bits are mostly gone by now, some interesting autumn- flowering crocuses and, oddly, a Rhododendron were in bloom:

      Here are some pics:

Woodland walk, the more cultivated part. The trees are just splendid.

The Beech Hedge with capital letters- it's 8m tall and over 100 years old. I'll stop complaining about my Privet one when the clipping time comes. For the scale, the white grasses on right are in fact full size Pampas grasses.

Topped the day off with a street artist comedy show (goodness how I have missed those...), a visit to the St Gile's Cathedral ( Goodness I have missed those too!! What an atmosphere, art, stained glass and vaulted brick ceiling that looks it's just about to collapse on you. Excellent, interesting and fun signage and the shop run by the chatty elderly volunteers... I had to buy a book of North East Saints even though it's likely to be less interesting one I have about some Italian saints. Self- mastectomy is on the more child friendly section in that one. )

Once again I'm deciding to visit Edinburgh at least once a year. It is such an improbable formation of piled stonework that it looks almost organic, and so very full of everything delicately old and refreshingly young. :)

Thank you Colin it went well, it's just like going to the opticians but the difference is they took my blood pressure.
I was supposed to have the surgery on Monday. She phoned me yesterday to see if i was well but I had to tell her that i have a cold sore on my mouth,so she cancelled it. Have another one on Friday the 12th of November, so hopefully I'll get in then.
        Thanks again Logan

Thank you Victoria, it had to happen at this time. But I've been getting a ear ache and my throat felt a bit aching on the right side and that's what triggered it.

Yesterday reminded myself about the instability inherent in the top two or three steps of a step ladder. Clearing some bits of plastic off the flat roof, stretch a bit and step ladder goes over leaving me hanging onto the parapet. Fortunately step ladder stayed at 45° to upright leaning against some staging. Carefully lower self down onto step ladder then carefully onto ground.
                Close shave that one.

@Logan well the adrenal glands are still working, but am fine apart from aching arms and shoulders.

@Logan that is really great. Lots of time to get the second one done and perfect vision before Christmas decorating and baking and feasting!

I've got the bread makers beating some dough for making rolls, laundry on the go, am tuned into my beloved Corrie Street and enjoying puttering in the kitchen. A perfect Sunday morning.

It is sunny out there but cool (42f) so I will wait until about lunch time to go out and putter in the fresh air.

I hope everyone else has a good time today too! :)

                        Hi,

Good luck for 12th November Logan; you need wrapping in cotton wool until then; what a shame though having to rebook the appointment; you'll have been built up looking forward to it only to start over again; it will be worth it long term though. :fingers crossed:

                        I hope you're feeling better.

                        Kind regards, Colin.
