Maybe I should start killing some spiders, if I could find any, but I don't like killing them!

Just read this - who are the Police after - and who will be claiming self defence?

The incident happened at around 2.30am, it’s alleged the pedestrian then went on to “assault the occupants of the car” according to police.

“It is reported the pedestrian, a man, was then assaulted by the occupants of the car – a dark blue or grey coloured Vauxhall Corsa.”

I suppose they both gave as good as they got.

The police often arrest the wrong one. I knew a guy years ago who went outside to find two youths breaking into his car. He hit one of them and the other ran away. He held the first youth down until the police arrived but they then arrested HIM for taking a swipe at the then snivelling youth.
Bonkers. What was he supposed to do, take him in for tea and cakes?

A couple of years ago now.

Wife is drunk and calls the Police on her husband - he has been hitting her they are told.

Police arrive - full blues and twos - handcuff and take away the husband.

Neightbour shouts to Police - "You've got the wrong one there mate".

Husband returns half and hour later - no charges.

But then, where there's a man and woman involved, the man is always guilty, isn't he?

Budget - I see that Labour are demonstrating why they will never get back into power - it's there for all to see on the Parliament channel of the bbc.

I bought a book case, in flatpack, and it had little dowels that you could fit into pre drilled holes, to hold the shelves.
However the dowels were too fat to fit into the holes so I went to buy some thinner ones in the hope they would fit.
They were sold in packs of ten ! :heehee: ... what's the good of that ?? You need four for each shelf, so you either want eight or twelve. Ten is no good.
I had three shelves so had to buy two packs of ten, £1.75 per pack, and now I've got eight that are of no use :noidea:

The shop owner said he used to sell them separately but he can only get them on packs of ten now ...

I blame metrication, ie. the EU.
In the old days a pack would have been a dozen.;)
Or even a bakers dozen, that way you would have a spare one.;)

Anyway, why didn't the ones provided fit the holes?

They're too fat. I even tried hammering them in but they won't go, they are too fat.
The ones I bought from the ironmonger this morning are too thin and keep falling out :heehee: so I've taken them back and had a refund. I think I'll have to send an email to the manufacturer asking for ones that fit.

Doh! Bought a new pneumatic stapler today and none of my staples fit it. And I have about 15,000 of them. Doh!

and I had to call somewhere for "support" regarding my television subscription. And it immediately reminded me of something someone said awhile back - maybe someone from here?

"Why do I have to press one for English when you're just going to transfer me to someone I can't understand anyway?"

I've never come across that, yet.
But I must admit I often understand the ones in Mumbai better than the ones in Glasgow or Newcastle.

A random thought- if the shelving is from IKEA their bits are not symmetrical. The holding bits are narrower at the side that goes into the wall of the shelf, and the shelf support side is fatter.

The bits look about this ===!---- but seem symmetrical to the naked eye.

I learnt that the hard way :wallbanging:
