Bought some more bulbs today from Farmer Gracy I've been holding out for ages waiting for the price to drop , I couldn't wait any longer incase they sold out . So I got..

6 x Fritillaria Persica Twin towers
    60x Tulip Lady Jane
60x crocus mix Purple & white
    3x eremurus Pinokkio

I had voucher code to get the 4th item free so that covered the Eremurus ( cost about £10 ) had to add extra tulips I only wanted 40 but need to up it for the free postage so it just went over £50 . That's it for this year on bulbs honestly  jam butty's for tea now this week :heehee:

Bit worried about the Eremurus I've tried before but got no flowers, after having a dig around in the front today where they be planted it might not be free draining enough for them. I can only try but it will be my last attempt with them.

Bought the plants last night for the front garden project , I were waiting to spring but I am to impatient and I'd jump the gun and bought the bulbs ( above ) which will be going in the same bed, it be much easier planting the bulbs when the herbaceous perennials are already in.
So what will be turning up sometime this week hopefully all 2Litre plants it cost me a fortune this project over the past month .
      6x Salvia Verticillata Smouldering torches
      6x Salvia nemorosa Amethyst
2x Eryngium Neptune gold , I don't know where they are going but they going in anyway.
      3x Monarda Raspberry wine .

Still got a miscanthus to get but that can wait till spring, its not advisable to be planting warm season grasses now.

I just knew this would happen eventually Perki, your gardening withdrawal symptoms are so bad that you're doing Spring jobs in Autumn now! :roflol: Mind you, you're getting really good at the self-justification for buying new plants at this stage, I'm taking notes for when friends and family suggest I'm spending too much on them!:love30:

Don't want them bulbs getting lonely in that bed all on there own now do I :nonofinger:, I might hit them with the spade if I wait till spring planting out and I am know for massacring allium bulbs while planting  safety first :dunno: . Feels like Spring anyway :heehee:

I have been going bulb crazy. I have created some new boarders and because I don’t really know what I’m doing, they were pretty hit and miss. One had a couple of dahlias which have been amazing since September but looked pretty rubbish until then so I’m hoping some alliums, Camassia, dafs and some lovely red iris’ might cheer it up until the dahlias do their thing. Also got some tulips for my pots. Woolmans-a-thon!

Picked these up in a charity shop this morning, the British Wildlife book was brand new, cost £1.49 and it’s a fantastic little book, covering everything from wildflowers, weeds, birds, trees, animals, etc.
The cactus book is also very good , cost £1.00
Well worth a visit this morning  E2B1F94C-0CF9-442B-87E9-9373548D4897.jpeg EC5F07A9-82F1-4A61-ACDC-EB70DC5CC9BB.jpeg

Excellent buys. I miss my jaunts through charity shops ... they are far and few between here. I still have lots of treasures.

I ordered a wind chime from Amazon Germany on Thursday and it arrived today.. It is 36ins long and has 18 gold aluminum tubes which make a lovely sound. We have hung it from Van's perch in the Jacaranda. It was only £7.99 plus post.

We have several wind chimes, yes they are soothing if you get the right tone. T'other Half doesn't like the bamboo nor capiz shell ones. I like most.
Very nice Michael, I had one years ago, plain green but I love variegated.

Thank you, yes looking very similar but more robust and don't produce runners. It has spikes of purple flowers in the summer.

                            Thanks @Victoria

Got myself some new one hand shears today mainly for cutting back perennials . It ideal using the free hand to hold the foliage up . I seem to get bits everywhere using normal shears.
