Lavender baby seedlings advice

I bought 600 lavender seeds to bring on for spring and put then under a plant light and got loads come through,
do you think its time to put them into plug trays I got 12 x 24 plug trays so may have to double up.
where should I keep them? they wont fit under the small light I got,
I do have a green house but its been quite cold and would the sudden change of light hours kill them? there on 13 hours right now

got 3 trays full to deal with about the same as the 1 in the photo

My personal thoughts are,

I think its the wrong time of year unless you have lots of lights and growing space.

Second thought, are you starting your own lavender farm.
I mean, do you really need that many.

 

TBH i was not expecting such a good success rate but I want about 200 and the rest the village shop can have to sell it helps with there funds

 

You might have a hard time growing them on over winter as seems they can be very prone to disease when young.
We purchased some plug plants a few years ago and as you can see they arrived in very poor condition, something quickly affecting them all, the seller, VM, replaced ok.

Worth trying to grow them on, but think we would let them grow on a little bit until the first true leaves appear before potting on and moving them into the greenhouse; slowly reducing the heat and light before doing so.

If they do fail you can buy plug plants in spring for about 20p each when ordering 100+.

 

yea I had a load of plug plants and they mostly come like yours so I thought grow my own It said about 3-4 weeks to even come up but it took 3-4 days lol
will start reducing the light hours till they come on a bit then

just pulled one out and the roots are barley an half inch if not less

 

I done this before under lights and put them into large plug trays but they were tiny like the ones I got above...

going to do a test to see if I take them out if they die or not, will give them few days under light to get used to being moved out the enclosed trays
