Me and the family are all registered with Bangkok hospital, have been for over 10 years now, we each have our own medical card which allows quick access to our medical records. I am the only one who needed to be seen by a doctor at the hospital due to feeling poorly, in and out within 20 minutes, superb service.

Our surgery has recently upgraded and now we get full medical records via a password.
But it isn't much good to us whilst the doctors are refusing to see patients.
I phoned the doctor during lockdown and told him that i was bleeding badly from the bum.. His answer was "what do you expect me to do about it"
I said, well a little advise wouldn't do any harm.
He makes Doc Martin look like an angel..
Anyways I'm alright now, i suspected cancer at the time but things have gone back to normal.

And they keep telling us, don't ignore symptoms.
It's a not very funny joke.

The BBC are reporting the ambulance service is in chaos, then go on to show loads of ambulances piled up, presumably, outside a hospital unable to pass on their patients.

Surely this suggests that the A&E departments are in crisis, not the ambulance service.

              Doctors, what’s a Doctor
I’m suffering with a bad ear infection, my wife called in the chemist and asked for some ear drops, they answered , sorry you have to see the doctor, wife answered are you having a laugh , we can’t get an appointment or even get to talk to a doctor  pharmacist answered, well ring 111, if you can’t get through due to high demand, just phone 999  :wallbanging: the Mrs walked out in disgust, what’s the world coming too, Sainsburys pharmacist went out of their way to help and sorted me out with some ear drops

It's come to something Lem when you get better medical help in Sainsburys than you do at the doctors surgery

I'm wondering if the A&E dept's are full of people that can't get to see their own doctor.
We've managed to book our covid boosters online which is one good thing i guess.
I see Germany has got big covid problems in areas where there's been a poor uptake in vaccines :noidea:

It is all a never ending circle of cause and effect. Hospitals overcome with covid so mandate the staff must be vaccinated. Staff who don't get the vax are going to be laid off with no pay but somehow they are making that choice to not get the jab. So about 5% of the staff will be gone and then the hospitals will have a worse problem with handling the demands of covid.

Stupidity in flesh. I can see not getting vaxxed for genuine medical conditions but otherwise?

I'm figuring that the anti-vaxers who also don't want the measles jab or any of the other vaccines will facilitate the extinction of the stubborn and stupid!

I've found pharmacist to be a waste of time, not their fault, I hasten to add, but they can only give you what is available over the counter anyway, and if it's something they can't give you the only reply has to be, see your doctor.

As to booster jabs, there doesn't seem to be many places doing them, unlike during the lockdown.

My nearest option is a pharmacy in a shopping centre in the middle of the town, I don't go into town these days, just drive through it occasionally.
Not used the carpark in question, how you pay for parking seems to be an issue in my town with lots of horror stories about it all going wrong.

I had my booster at the vaccination centre in the nearest town to me. I took a token from the parking machine when I drove in and one of the nursing assistants validated it for me to get out. It's in a large council sports complex and they were allowing walk-ins as well. It was very busy.

I'm not sure but they seem to have gone over to having to pay by phone around here.
If you don't have a phone you have to pay at a machine which apparently doesn't work half the time.
People been getting lots of parking fines.
This is only what I have heard, not tried it myself.
Probably just a load of wrinkles who are non tech savvy, unlike us lot.

If I was to loose any of my medication while travelling in the far east, I would just pop into a pharmacist and sorted. I had my GP send me a copy of my medication by email, so it's very straightforward without the need of having to see a doctor first. I also keep a hard copy of my prescription in my wallet, just in case if I was ever stopped at customs.

I have many friends who travel to the far east, they, like myself prefer that you get antibiotics and prescription medicine over the counter without the need of having to get a repeat prescription from a consultant first, yet others think it's wrong and they should only be prescribed after seeing a consultant.

Lots of problems with over use of antibiotics.
Does the same situation regarding getting medical help apply to everyone in the far east or just those that can afford it or pay insurance for private medical assistance.

When we used to go to other countries, pre Covid, we always made sure our holiday insurance covered us for everything. Then there was no worry :blue thumb:. Always took copies of any prescriptions.

I don't remember ever having to claim on it :heehee:. Actually, immediately before Covid Mrs S. slipped and hurt her knee and couldn't walk and she ended up in hospital in Mandalay at 7 p.m. on New Year's Eve :hate-shocked:. We had been travelling on a boat on the Irrawaddy River and the housekeeper came with us to the hospital. She had fantastic service. Triaged, seen by a doctor, referred to an Orthopaedic consultant (who drove in to the hospital to see her), had an X-ray and back with the consultant - all within 40 minutes. According to the X-Ray she hadn't broken anything but was told not to try to walk (she couldn't) and see a consultant when we got home. She was sent out with pain killers and the X-Ray. Total cost, which the housekeeper kept apologising for how expensive it was, was £40.

We didn't claim on the insurance. :heehee:
