No not really any female may need to have it measured for some reason.Because I was so young, and despite informing them about my Mum , they had the technology to definitely clarify what was happening and to rule out any nasties, unlike back in my Mum's day.
    I had worse tests/ examinations !!

It's just like a normal ultra sound ,but they stop to take and measure the images. Similar to the ones you have when pregnant but in that case it's the baby being measured.

Going back about 5 or more years ago, I had a cervical polyps removed. She used the device with a camera on the end and on the monitor I could see inside my womb, it was white inside, don't know if that was because I've been through the menopause or not.

The above unmentionable internal x-rays were very similar...it's so weird to look inside yourself!!

Fascinating but a tad unnerving at the same time..... like watching a horror movie ...you squint at the screen from behind a cushion!!:yikes:

I had a camera shoved into my bladder on a few occasions, they asked me last time if I wanted to look.
I said no, just bloody get on with it, it stings like hell.

                          If squeamish skip this post.
I had catheter ablation of the heart had several bits of kit threaded up the femoral arteries, all displayed on high definition screens; I missed a lot of it as I was sedated; as they really didn't want me moving.
My mother had her hips replaced (6 months apart) with an epidural rather than a general and was disappointed when they put a screen up so she couldn't see; could do fairly graphic vocal impression of the noises though.

I've had my hip replaced three times and knee once, latter three with epidural and I heard and smelled all going on with the knee ... music in background, chatter, laughter, sawing, drilling, hammering, ... interesting when you can't feel anything.

They really should ban smoking in hospitals.

I had my prostate reamed out in the end and with an epidural since then my back has never been the same.
Coincidence or not? but I do remember a very jolly Italian bloke , guessing he was an anaesthetist , laughing and joking with a youngster, and saying, you can have a go on this one.:frown:
