I just read that Amazon wont be accepting Visa credit cards after January.

Its not likely to bother me much as I tend to avoid Amazon like the plague.

But it has come at a time, when, I was informed recently that Natwest will be changing from MasterCard to Visa.

Apparently its all the fault of Brexit.

They will lose a lot of customers then. Do they expect everyone to use debit cards online?

Well it would be wouldn't it? Any change, problem or price rise, no matter what the subject is - is blamed on Brexit.

I thought it was the other way round, more banks are switching from Visa to Mastercard.

NatWest to no longer issue Visa Credit Cards? — MoneySavingExpert Forum

They are all getting greedy now with fees, PayPal increased fees in the U.S from 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction to a fixed fee of 3.49% + $0.49 for all U.S based online payments.

Amazon has a surcharge for purchases in Singapore and Australia when using a Visa credit card.
It will only be a matter of time when the likes of Amazon have their own merchant payment.

Amazon are offering a £20 bribe for prime customers like me to switch to Mastercard, but I don't have one and wouldn't consider use my debit card. Martin Lewis thinks this is a negotiating tactic to get Visa to lower their fees, lets see who will blink first.

I've already got a credit master card through NatWest, had it for more than 20years.
Wondering why they informed me they were going to change it.

I tend to use PayPal when possible, but that is paid by my credit card.

Wondering how long it will be before PayPal joins in and stops accepting Visa.

I've used pay pal for many years. There's not been many probs but when i have had a dispute they refunded me immediately and asked questions later.
I use p/pal for Argos, Screwfix click/collect, and ebay

They are very good when there is a dispute, however their fee's are probably the most expensive when it comes to using their platform though.

In the past eBay was a great platform for the general public to sell unwanted items etc etc without having extortionate fee's to pay, not anymore.

In the past if you wanted to sell an item on eBay, say it sold for £100 then the eBay fee's and PayPal fee's would of been £5.47ish, now you will be charged £12.80.

I sell on eBay but if I could get the same volume of sales through my website, I wouldn't. Not only could I make a better mark up, I would also be cheaper to the consumer in doing so.

In the past, eBay did not charge any fee's on postage, only PayPal did. So now you also have to take in to account , there is a 12.8% fee charged on the postage cost.

I am not a fan of big businesses, I think most of you on here have already noticed that.
