Around here the first 2 jabs were in our civic hall, which has since reverted to an entertainment venue. The other main place was a school. So now it's just chemists which can't process as many. I expect in London there are big vaccination hubs, the government are ok and don't care about the provinces.

My first two were AZ and done at our village surgery. Booster was listed as being Pfizer. Got my 'book it now' letter, went on to the site and got booked in that weekend to a Vac centre (sports centre) in the big town 7 miles away. They were also doing walk-ins, as well as appointments, each Sunday.

We certainly are very fortunate here then!! Our Doctors have two surgeries ( both close to each other) one is dealing only in all things Covid related so all we've ever had to do is book an appointment and go along.
All Pfizer for me too but hubs first 2 were AZ+ plus a P. booster.

Our local Church Hall has been and still is a vaccination hub too, as some other surgeries don't have the facilities to offer vaccination points within their own buildings.

There are often pop-up walk-ins, maybe only there for a day or two. Locally, Aldi and Asda have had them. You have to keep an eye on local news web or rely on word getting round.

I must try and calm down. I was watching a 'Fail' video on youtube last night - I laughed so much my sides are aching this morning.

I'm still chuckling now thinking about it....

They don't make things the way they used to

I built a propagator for our greenhouse in 1976 and the heating cable has packed up and I've had to order a new one! It didn't even last 50 years. :dunno: :nonofinger:

My local MP has just shoved a size 12 in it.

Labour and Plaid want free school meals for all primary school pupils.

Plans to give free school meals to all primary school children in Wales criticised by Delyn MP.

Delyn MP Rob Roberts said the move would see free school meals given to the most well-off families in Wales, he wants a more targeted approach for those who need help the most.

He said "I wonder if we asked each headteacher in local primary schools would you rather have free meals for every child, even those whose parents make £100,000 a year, or would you rather have 2/3 new teachers, 5/6 more classroom assistants, etc?”

He thinks that a family with more disposable income automatically means that the kids will be well fed and looked after.

My Mum was a school dinner lady - she has seen first hand how free school meals benefit kids. She told me of one kid who always hung around the kitchen doors looking for scraps - as school meals were all he had to eat.

Rob - you're looking very wobbly at the moment.

Personally I dont see why my taxes should provide free school meals to those that can afford it.

I assume the people traffickers are now using flimsier boats as they know they only have to get half way now, at which point they will be picked up.
Or at least that is what they will be telling those on board.

Not really a moan but its getting a bit nippy out there tonight and I have a silvered bubble wrap cover I pull down across the glass of my cold frame.
Just had a quick look and a fox is laying on the top of the bubble wrap, obviously its found out how it reflects back its own body heat.
                            They aint stupid.
