We're so very worried...just spoken this evening with two of our sons..one is feeling very poorly and has tested positive and the other one is still going against our advice to South America for a 7 week holiday and flies out at the weekend. Whatever their age kids bring sleepless nights to their parents....always.:thud:

      Good morning everybody.

Well apart from the torrential rain yesterday afternoon the storm passed us by unnoticed! The winds arrived after midnight ( if indeed they actually did:dunno:) and we slept through it and woke to a nice bright and calm morning.
      Hope everyone came through unscathed.

      Keep safe

I'm glad the storm wasn't too bad for you @Upsydaisy, we missed the worst of it here too.

                    Good morning.:)
Woken up to still having a thumping headache. It will probably disappear in a couple of weeks when son no.1 has recovered and son no.3 has safely installed himself in Columbia. Bless son no.2 ...he's fit and well ( as far as I know) and only venturing over to France for Christmas.

I might go for a walk to deliver a couple of really close by cards today, I'll see.:dunno:
Yesterday I set off to the post office to post our abroad cards and a few that I planned to hand deliver and to visit my brother, but had to return home and get a lift instead.

Our weather looks good for today so that's good news.:dbgrtmb:

Keep safe and enjoy your day.:spinning:

Maybe some fresh air while delivering your cards will help clear your headache @Upsydaisy I hope the weather holds for you

I've started painting some cards but I really feel like giving up. To be honest I dislike Christmas more and more every year. I find it boring. It's just not my thing ...

Thanks Michael my walk did indeed bring me relief from my headache.

Sadly one of the persons I was delivering to passed away in October which has upset me a lot as she was a lovely lady who managed to carry on living independently since her husband passed despite ill health and reaching 90!!

I was concerned a few weeks back that her car was no longer parked on her driveway ....she so loved driving locally to bingo a couple of times a week. Today though I saw a For Sale sign and it really made me feel.. 'ill ' ..well shocked really I suppose so I went and knocked on her neighbours door and they gave me the sad news, she was hospitalised for 8 wks prior to passing away.
Walking away I then bumped into her daughter in-law and passed on my condolences to the family...only to receive some cruel remarks about her. I just said how much we liked her , but sadly hadn't obviously been able to visit her due to Covid, but had thankfully been able knock on her door several times for a ' distanced' chat , and I didn't like to hear bad things said about the deceased.

We will remember her fondly for the way she was towards us.....lovely.xx

I can understand the feeling you had when you found out that lady had passed away @Upsydaisy. It's nice to know she was able to live independently for so long.
Sad that her daughter-in-law had bad things to say about her though, but people don't always get along with each other. You were obviously friendly towards her and she reciprocated. What goes round comes round.

Thank you Michael, yes I fully appreciate that people don't always get along but found her comments uncalled for. We each form our own individual relationship with a person ....why try and put a stain on someone elses memory of them just because your own isn't good?

                            Folk can be strange.

                            Nigh, night xx

Good morning to you all! :)

Another lovely (downside...cold) day....Lori must have a right old giggle at us moaning about our ' low' temps!!:roflol:

Laundry load is done and waiting for me to brave the nippiness ( sounds better,:heehee:) and hang it out. Just need my 2nd cup of tea first..:coffee:

I will check over all my overwintering babies in the greenhouse and coldframes....all the Pelargoniums are blooming beautifully despite being cut back. Will then do another load of leaf clearing, some trees have shed all of theirs but still have the big Oaks...they're always the last.

Have a great day. Keep snug! :spinning:
