When will criminals learn - you use a gun in the UK to commit crime - you will be dealt with swiftly:

Police were called to reports of a man with a firearm entering a bank and bookmakers in Marloes Road, Kensington, at about 15:05.

Police with assault rifles surround his car and shot twice into it.

The man sustained gunshot wounds and died at the scene.

I had £50 M&S e-vouchers so decided to buy some decent pans and pots. Then I remembered having seen an old, tattered M&S gift card somewhere in the depths of my wallet, dug it out and hey presto- it's still valid! It must be over 3 years old.

Great pans for a breath taking expense of £3, that's my kind of shopping :)

Gingerbread Hogwarts is half way there.

We were gluing the parts together with molten sugar whilst chatting with the family on Skype- I'm not sure if it can be taken as a credit to his positive attitude of life that my Father, 81, was in stiches when I was seriously burning myself mid- sentence.

"Yes, it has been fairly mild here GUAAAGGHHRTS too, a couple of frosty nights AYIEEEE GAHH but not WHUKKA WHUKKA WHUKKA THAT HURTS too bad... " Most funny isn't it. At least I have spectacular blisters in various unexpected locations on my person.

Anyways, my niece, 6, appreciates the effort and is looking forward to seeing the complete work next Sunday. Hagrid's hut and various dragons and trees are going in, plus some interesting ladders going nowhere and possibly a duck. I like ducks. :)

Dim lights, more icing, a good dusting of icing sugar and it'll be just fine

It's been 4 weeks since i had the cataract surgery and last Friday had the check up at the opticians for it and it went well, so she told the hospital to go ahead with the right one, it will be a month or 2 before I hear anything. It's amazing how much I can see now that I didn't realize before. But it feels a bit lopsided because of the bad one. Just got to catch up with the garden before the next one.

Looks brilliant @Selleri ....it's a strange reaction isn't it of how we tend to laugh ( depending on the situation...I hope!) when a person has an accident or hurts themselves.

Think of your blisters as a medal to proudly wear in recognition of your marvellous talents.......and pain and suffering.:heehee:

Good news @Logan , glad everything has gone well.:dbgrtmb:

I'm going into town this morning for a leisurely browse on my own, then meeting a friend for a Christmas catch up coffee ......and cake of course!!
Probably be my last visit to town before the schools break up for a peaceful wander, we will go in next week just for the grocery shop and that will be it.

I've decided to do a bit of furniture up-cycling. By this I mean painting the bed side cabinets and replacing the knobs with something more fancy. The price of new furniture is sky high and in anycase I'm too tight to buy new.

Purchased the primer and top coat from Screwfix. Very clever - they want £3.99 for 4 foam rollers - when you can get the same from Home Bargains for 99p. The paint was good value - so you expect the other kit to be equally competitive - it isn't...

Bit of a non-descript day here. Can't get my head around anything. T'other Half had his hair cut but I cancelled my appointment (last week) as I think I will let it grow over the winter. Doing my gentle exercises every couple of hours, looking up stuff on t'internet, watching a bit of crime on TV, a bit of crochet. When TH wakes up from his snooze we will play some cards. I hate days like today with no direction!

Starting some Christmas baking today. It will be my 6 loafs of Apple Cranberry Walnut bread. Gifts to a few. Cold enough for all to stay outside when done in a big tin. Then some house stuff. Maybe later more leaf removal.

Did the odd things like a bit of cleaning, emptied the bins, emptied the bag of dog food into 2 large buckets with lids on to keep it dry and fresh, in the afternoon washed my hair. Tomorrow both of us have to go to the dentist to have treatment with the highgenist, my gums have been a lot better since I've been going, was getting gum disease but now that i know what to do they're fine.
