I hope your overwintering babies are all right @Upsydaisy
I must check on mine soon, and I have some Pelargonium cuttings that shouldn't be in a cold frame now.

All were fine thank you Michael. :dbgrtmb: My Pelargonium plants are in the 'wall' cold frames ,but the cuttings are in the greenhouse inside the bubble wrap enclosure, they're doing fine too . If the temps take a significant tumble I throw sheets of fleece over them all.

        Good morning everyone.:)

Spoke with all 3 of our brood yesterday ,

No1. Still looking and sounding very rough with Covid, he's had a really bad thumping headache all week and a sore throat like he's never had before and feels completely drained.

No2. All fine with him, but they have cancelled their trip to France and down to us at New Year ( we were going to suggest they didn't come down ,more for their sakes that ours)

No3. All packed and can't wait to board the plane today!!
Complete opposite to his brother!! It's amazing how peas from the same pod can differ so much!

No set plans today.....just going with the flow. It so very mild so no doubt most of my time will be spent in the garden.

        Have a restful day.:spinning:

Hoping your No 1 son will feel better soon @Upsydaisy. I think covid affects people differently. The lady who cuts my hair had it two weeks ago and when she came here yesterday she said it was just like a cold. She had no after effects either, she was fine.

Re your sons - We get half our DNA from our father and half from our mother, so maybe your No 3 son has inherited a different half to the others, therefore they would not act or think the same.
I hope he enjoys his south America trip, I would love to go to some of those countries.

Were you were able to get something done in the garden ?

Hello Michael, how are you today?

Yes I know of some who just had a mild case too,as you say everyone reacts differently.

All three sons are very different really, I was referring more to No2 not wanting to travel just across the channel at this moment in time and yet No3 has no qualms in going to the other side of the world until February during a pandemic!!!

No I haven't done anything in the garden after all today apart from checking on the frames and greenhouse. Despite our forecast reading as mild to me it was very cold here with a brisk breeze. I can always busy myself with housework...had an afternoon of hoovering instead!!

I have also been tracking son's flight every now and then.....I find it quite amazing as you get the full flight details , he's currently flying over Canada and is 4.5 hours into the flight and has just over 5 hrs left before reaching Houston. Then he has a couple of hours to wait before his flight to Columbia.

The world is getting smaller it seems nowadays.:heehee:

Its so scary when you see just how many planes are flying about up there. This is his position now ( red plane) just about to cross the Hudson Bay. Screenshot_2021-12-11-19-10-13.png

It wouldn't do for everyone to be the same @Upsydaisy ... we're all needed in our own special ways

I have been fine today thanks for asking. I haven't done anything of note though ...

No wonder there's so much pollution with all those planes flying around.
It's good that you can follow your son's journey though, he's on a great adventure :hapydancsmil:

I hope your 'to do' list is much shorter now @Upsydaisy,
although I won't blame you if it isn't

Hmmm, well my list is a little bit shorter Michael..

As it was very mild here we decided to go for a walk, I was on the lookout for some Holly with berries or any other nice greenery . I want to make a nice Winter type arrangement to put on my parents resting place at Christmas.
I spied some nice pieces that I will be able to experiment with hidden deep in a wood so fingers crossed they won't get nabbed.:fingers crossed:

We had an email from baby son saying that he had arrived in Bogota this morning and was now settling down for a bit of sleep as he had been awake for 30 hours.

                        Good morning all.

We're in for a grey looking day but dry and still very mild.

I'm off for a wander around town this morning before meeting up with a friend for coffee, cake and a chat.

                        Have a great day.:spinning:

Did you enjoy meeting your friend @Upsydaisy ? It's nice to catch up with friends

I've been feeling annoyed, the door and window for my new extension were supposed to arrive today.
The builder went to collect them but the man who was supposed to get them ready had gone out for the morning.
When he came back at about 2 pm he said that only the window had arrived, and not the door.
The builder said he'd get the window tomorrow but then his van broke down so he won't be able to get it until Wednesday.
Nothing ever works out nicely does it :gaah: :heehee:

Oh no!! I'm sorry to hear that Michael ,that's a real shame and your annoyance is well justified!!
Is this the two coloured door you were telling us about? Are they the only remaining jobs that are waiting to be done now? If so hopefully you should be all finished by Christmas :fingers crossed::santajump:

Even well thought out plans come across a hitch.....but the end is within your grasp now, just keep hold of that thought.

Thank you yes I had a great time, although we've spoken on the phone we haven't met up for 16mnths! We use to go to the cinema once or sometimes twice a month and can't wait to feel safe enough to resumed this.

That's great to know @Upsydaisy  16 months is a long time not to see a friend.

Yes it is the two coloured door. I don't know why it's taking so long. It's just a door, I can't understand why the colour makes it take longer ?
Then the builder will have to finish plastering the walls around the door and window, and connect the electrics and a few other things ...
Oh yes, and there's a toilet to go in. It's the old outside loo which has been repositioned and is now inside the building. It will be handy when I'm in the garden.

When it's done I'll be able to sort the rest of the house out

                                Good morning :xmasyay:

How are you all this morning....well I hope .:fingers crossed:

Haven't got round to making any plans for today yet, I'll just see were the day leads me.
I think ( well I hope) I have a cold developing as I noticed my throat was sore yesterday evening and I have a dull headache and the sniffs this morning. Will wait and see how and if it progresses before doing a lateral flow test, we must get the newer version as ours are the older ones that have been said to be less reliable.

Another mild day here again 13c !!!! Lovely jubbly.

Spoke with our AWOL son last night...not keen on Bogota but he had read up on it and didn't have high expectations anyway, he said it's crawling with military police!. The city is really just the gateway into the country and people move on ....son is moving on to Salento today.

                                Have a lovely day everyone.:spinning:
