Can't get any lateral flow kits for love or money around here ..all gone. I've even extended the search radius to 30 miles. One Pharmacy not too far away might get a delivery this afternoon ...:fingers crossed:

Sore throat isn't too bad today, but I don't feel 100%.

I realise it probably isn't anything nasty Woo, but it's not a joking matter because it can be the first significant symptom......I hope you've been testing yourselves.
I also know from my Dad's, overly high central heating can make things very uncomfortable and dries out the atmosphere ....in Winter I couldn't wait to get home. Anything over 19C is uncomfortable heating and I find suffocating, much prefer to be able to add a cardi or remove it.

Good afternoon @Upsydaisy I dp apologise if I have offended you but I'm certainly not testing and I have no intention of doing so I have my own perception on this whole Covid situation but I shall keep that to myself as I have always done and I am not apologising for having a sense of humour which I find has got me through many situations

I have yet to do a test Woo, but as things are at present I owe it to some of my family members who are classed as vulnerable ,especially with the holiday fast approaching.

I tried to pick up a test kit from Boots today, no luck. They are supposed to be getting a delivery later. They didn't have any face masks either which was a bigger surprise.

We test at least once a week as we do childcare for our grandchildren. The virus is rampant in schools around us so it has to be done.

Thanks @Lem , I've just read your update, glad you're on the slow mend....tightness of chest and energy levels will probably take a while to recover.

As I said I probably haven't got it but I need to visit my brother quite often now sadly to check that his meds are taken and to monitor his food consumption.
Our infection rates here are rising quite rapidly now too, as I've been recently diagnosed as having low immunity levels in 2 significant areas and still haven't had my booster...I may be a tad over cautious.

Agree, son started with a sore too and a headache.....which after a week he still has plus now feeling completely drained.

                    Wishing you a speedy recovery @Lem :grphg:xx

Supply chains were reduced as people were not buying or asking for them as much - especially so the lateral flow tests because people were being asked to give a code from the NHS app which had to be recorded by Boots (and I presume other pharmacies) which meant people were less inclined to get them willy-nilly. In both cases, demand has appeared quite suddenly and the supply just isn't there, despite what the liar-in-chief is saying. This is the problem when you source everything from China.

I ordered, and got, some tests online, but that was a couple of weeks ago, and before Boris caused all this panic.
He makes stupid statements like "we" are going to vaccinate a million people a day.
Going by how difficult it was to get a booster, before he stirred the proverbial, I tend to think "they" don't stand a chance of fulfilling "his" ambition.

At this time of year I take advantage of the free heat whilst driving. I don't get an scratchy throat though. I get an itchy right leg. That's where the stongest blast of heat hits first. :heehee:

I'm off to the booze store to get a variety of beer for Christmas as I'd prefer to do so now instead of waiting until the place is crowded nust before the holiday. That's part of my Covid defense plan. Get the booze early ;)

When I had Covid earlier this year I had a headache and were tired at first and just felt bit off , didn't think anything of it at first I couldn't sleep the night before so blamed it on that , I were the same the day after which had me thinking I could have covid . Other than a bit achy and a slight cough day 3 onwards I were fine I was in the garden getting a tan mowing the lawn and I cut the hedge , I did lose my taste / smell and its still not right to this day , I love cheese and onion pies and some other things they just don't taste right anymore , I won't eat an egg anymore I can't stand the taste of them .

Managed to get through NHS jab booking queues and got my booster appointment for Thursday. :) I have been invited to meet some friends next week but I'm bowing out until my refreshed antibodies kick in.

When we were allowed in the office we were asked to do the free NHS home tests a couple of times a week. My colleagues who had the infection, told that the tests turned positive the very day when their symptoms started. Many had sick kids at home so were testing daily (and staying home). So whilst the home tests may not be very accurate, they are better than nothing if you need some reassurance that you have a low viral load.

Looking so forward to getting over this latest hump. :)
