    Just for interest ...

Two Olive Trees here in Algarve, The Oliveira Real from Aldeamento Pedras D'el Rei, in Tavira, and the Oliveira Milenar from Morgado do Quintão, in Lagoa, both over 2000 years old, are the two Algarve specimens that are candidates for the European Tree of the Year 2022.

If they were around here they would be likely candidates for being chopped down and having houses built on them.
Or the council would do a bad job of lopping them, on safety grounds.

I love old gnarled trees like those.:dbgrtmb:

It is one of the things about the Portuguese ... they love and preserve the old.
