      Furniture up cycling update:

Coat of primer applied to bedroom cabinet and coffee table - looking good so far - top coat to go on in the next few days. If all goes to plan - more bits of furniture are in for the same treatment.

It's not a good day for gardening

                    20211218_143802.jpg
And excellent timing because I have started back in on my Christmas baking.

Obviously the rumballs and Christmas cake were made weeks ago .

I make up two trays of gluten free cookies for one son's family because the fellow with autism loves baked tnings. It does make a big difference with him to have g,uten free as he gets extremely agitataed with regular baking. Their trays are having snickerdooodles, shortbread, meringues and I only have the chocolate chip (dressed up in red and ggeen sprinkles) left to bake. The dough is ready.

And I've got meringues, spritz cookies and mince tarts made for the "regular" trays. I do have the doughs for the ice box style, xmas cake style, maraschino, and snickerdoodles ready to bake. Probably tomorrow, before during and after my show :)

And one dough left to mix. Shortbread.

My feet told me to sit down now so all I'm doing for the rest of the day is sitting on the back of my lap!

@Tomcat they are a cookie that is fairly light. You roll a little ball of the dough then roll that in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon. Very much like the topping for cinnamon toast. Bake. It flattens like a biscuit and is lovely to eat. Oh, the gluten free oñes don't flatten as much as the "regular" but are still quite nice.

I'm not having any supper because I was tasting/doing quality control all day and feel chocker block!

Have not made snickerdoodles in years. Raining out today, lots of inside stuff to do. We will go to settlement on our 2nd home mid-January. Beginning the process of furnishing it, etc. Been to some lovely Estate Sales, today packing up the glassware found there to get into the SUV. Have been exploring 2nd handed furniture also, mostly from around the new location. I am not taking a UHAUL. Have already a few items on hold, 2nd handed that people are selling me. Its a 7 hour car drive. We always wanted a house on the ocean, so that is it, its on a large inlet that leads to big water, nice dock. 3 bedroom, 2 bath. We plan to rent it when not there. And you'd think I can rest when retired. LOL.

My Niece, 6, narrowly won the Selleri Siblings Best Gingerbread House 2021 awards, closely followed by our Hogwarts-moodlight assembly (high on the bookers' lists), followed by Us All as we all did a fine job. :) Next Sunday competition is "Best Christmas sofa". I'm planning to go in with fake fur blankets, IKEA piglet soft toy, and small wooden bowls with treats hidden here and there. I'm in for the win! :paladin:

And the wreath got done too. I'm allergic to the conifer in front of the house that donates most of the greenery but needs must. In addition, there is a lot of Ivy with berries, rose hips, and fir cones from our trip to York. Battery powered lights. I think we need to add a branch or two to hide the hook but otherwise it's there. :)
