      That's interesting. Just heard on the radio that a Dr. from a hospital in London reckons that 90% of the people in his hospital who are poorly with covid are unvaccinated,

        I keep hearing this claim, and keep seeing it peddaled particularly on social media - I also regularly see it debunked by ONS data

                I have seen far too many "journalists" literally handed their backside on Twitter for using duff stats. Best to wait and see what the ONS stats say really.

                Mind you, their data is fudged to make it say what is desired... "cases" being one of the most misleading of the lot!

                        That one, I do believe. Vaccines are doing their job as well, whether double or triple jabbed:

                        22/12/2021 figures versus 22/12/2020:

                        Tests: 1.49M v 454K (so 3 x as many tests)
                        Positive tests: 106K v 37K
                        Patients in hospital: 8,008 v 21,133 (considerably less than half)
                        Daily admissions: 813 v 2,482 (a third)
                        Deaths: 140 v 691 (LESS than a third)

                            So we break the record for the number of new cases.
                            We also have a situation where there are so many people testing that you cant actually get hold tests anymore.

                            Now I wonder if there is a connection between amount of new cases and amount of testing going on.:scratch:;)

                              I have to agree with Gordon. Future generations will look back on us lot and think that we are a load of numpties:

                              Former prime minister Gordon Brown says the failure to distribute vaccines to poorer countries is a "stain on our global soul".

                              Mr Brown said the uneven distribution of Covid vaccines "is one of the greatest policy failures of our times" and had been caused by wealthy countries hoarding and stockpiling vaccines.

                              In Nigeria, some vaccine supplies have arrived too close to their use-by date, and have had to be dumped

                                I tend to agree, but, what would we all be saying on here if there was not enough vaccine to go round in this country but we were supplying Nigeria.
                                I was under the impression that WHO was sorting that out.
