          Sorry to know that @Victoria,

I didn't know they grew from tubers when I bought it so I just had a look. The tuber is there and feels quite solid so I am hopeful for the spring.

Oh I did know they grew from tubers.
I bought a couple a long time ago and they rotted on me before even showing a shoot.

That's how I know they rot easily.;)

As far as I can remember growing them decades ago, they need careful watering and, as said, they can rot easily. They prefer to be just damp in the Summer and dry in the Winter (12c lowest) as they will naturally die down and then stated them off in heat in the Spring, late March onward.

Thank you @strongylodon I shall put it to dry for the winter and start off again in a propagator in March. The tuber feels solid so it should be all right.
