I love making chicken pot pies. I use canned soup, either cream of chicken or mushroom, sometimes cream of celery. A good choice ... enjoy your visit.

Good morning everyone, how are you all this morning?

It looks as if we're in for another great day. Plans for enjoying it are much the same as yesterday's.:blue thumb:

Whatever your plans are I hope your day goes well.

Good morning all, not a lot planned for today but I do have a hospital appointment tomorrow at Orsett Hospital which is quite some distance away and because it is for my eyes I cannot drive and have to book hospital transport. I have asked for a car not ambulance because of my back and legs in other words my disability problems. We shall see hope its not going to be another case of round and round the houses picking up other patients especially when they do not know where they are going. Had that last time I had hospital transport.

Well hope you all have a good day as you say the sun is shining so that makes it more pleasant and lets you know that Spring is on the way, fingers crossed, lets hope it comes early this year.
        God bless. :)

          Good day
@moyra it is not often that I take a bus anywhere but when I have, I found it fascinating. The regular #19 to get home from our GO station does a meandering route in and out of back streets. Boy oh boy, do I get to see a lot of houses and gardens. It's amazing how many creative people there are out there. Even in winter when the gardens are sleeping, the hard landscaping at the front of their yards can still be viewed. And no, I do not take my binoculars... tempting though

@Victoria I am going to use your recipe. I have a can of cream of celery soup. I've got the chicken cooked and cubed and the veggies mixed in. Now it's mix, fill and bake. The bread dough for some rolls is on it's first rise. And I made butter pecan ice cream for dessert.

And I've got the roomba going round the kitchen picking up any stray crumbs so that I look like a really great housekeeper :heehee:

@Upsydaisy our day is guessed to be a cloudy cold one but I'm going to be inside for most of it, so I don't care! :)

          Cheers all
          Lori

            Good afternoon everyone

Lovely pic @Upsydaisy, I would enjoy walking along there ...

@moyra I hope your journey to the hospital isn't too daunting for you. I hope you get a good result.

I went to a not-far-away town where they were selling pots of snowdrops in the market, so I bought two, then I bought some Dahlia tubers and two cacti in B&Q, and then I spent more money (too much more money ! :yikes: ) in a garden centre I passed on the way home (shouldn't have taken the scenic rout :heehee:)
Must stay at home tomorrow

              Good morning!!:)

Yet another nice day to come, I think :fingers crossed:, once the sun rises and burns up the remaining bit of fog, a bit nippy but I suppose we can't have everything!

Can't believe how quickly the week has passed by :yikes:.
May visit my brother after my morning walk, but might leave it until tomorrow and give him time to think about any shopping he might need.

Plan to give all the over wintering Fuchsias a drink and a day out in the fresh air today once the temps have risen a bit.

              Have a super day.:spinning:

                Good day,
I'm a bit late today because I didn't get to sleep until the early hours this morning. Just restless, nothing else wrong. So I landed up sleeping in after I finally dropped off.

My chicken pot pie was okay. I think I could have added more liquid to the celery soup to make a bit more runny and then get a moister mixture. But I did serve those freshly baked rolls, and home made butter pecan ice cream after to make up for that little boo boo.

This morning I visit my wine guy and take care of a couple of errands. I plan to be done by noon and then hunker down for the weekend. Let the young people have the space in the shops. They work 9-5 and weekends are their prime time to shop.

                Cheers all
                Lori

Good morning @Flumpy and all who look in.

I think you're a bit late with the pie flumpy...there may only be crumbs left!!:heehee: Sounded very yummy though didn't it.

Grocery shopping, visiting my brother and ,in sort of reference to the pic above;) a (static) bike session at some point too instead of a hike out today.

                    Have a fabulous day.:spinning:

Yes, have to adjust the moisture level depending on amount of chicken. I add a little milk and also a few pinches of cumin.

Yes, @Flumpy it is far to late to get a pic and you wouldn't like to see what my body has done with it now! @Victoria when I reheated some for last night's supper, I did just as you said although after the fact. I put a hole in the pastry top and poured in a bit of cream before heating. I made individual pies to it was easy to do.

It is -20c and ready for me to experiment with @Selleri 's great info about drying heavy clothes in the cold. :)

And I have to wash my hair so maybe I'll... okay, that didn't sound like such a great idea about bending your hair when frozen! :heehee:

And we are already half way through January :yikes:

I couldn't cope with that, I'd have to emigrate :frown:

I went out to do some shopping this afternoon (needed cat food :cat-kittyandsmiley: and life isn't worth living if Bella hasn't got the flavour she wants :heehee:)
and I went for a cup of coffee in a new Greggs that's opened in an out of town shopping area.
I asked for a custard slice to go with the coffee (thought I'd spoil myself ) and the assistant gave it to me in a paper bag.
I said I wanted to eat it inside with my coffee but she said they didn't give plates :frown:
How are you supposed to eat a custard slice without a plate and a knife and fork ?
So I told her to put it back and had just the coffee ... in a cardboard beaker :frown:
                          I won't be going there again ...

I hope everyone's had a lovely day and enjoy your evening

Hello Michael, how strange could it be due to Covid ?? They may not want to deal with the washing of plates and cutlery during the pandemic.
Mmmm I haven't had a custard slice in ages......I really want one now!!:heehee:

Yes thanks we've had a pretty busy day, can't exactly describe it as completely enjoyable as it entailed grocery shopping ( which I admit I sneakily got out of in the end ;)). Hope your evening has been a relaxing one. xx

I don't think so @Upsydaisy, you get food on plates in other places. It's probably a modern way of eating, you slouch around and shove the food into your mouth :frown:

I hope you have a custard slice one day, I should have bought that one and eaten it at home  ... my grandmother used to make lovely ones on a big tray.
I'm glad you got out of doing the shopping, it's such a tedious chore. Did someone do it for you ?

My evening was spent rearranging some cupboards in the kitchen, I've decided to do some baking and wanted all the baking things together in the same place. I'm going to make something on Monday
                              (well that's the plan )

Hi Michael, yes that's true but it still seems a bit weird ....why have an ' eat in ' area but without the appropriate 'eat with' equipment!

Yes in a way..my hubs ended up doing it all on his own!!:hapydancsmil:. I wanted to get a couple of things from some nearby shops for myself so I said I'd only be 5-10mins, don't quite know what happen but I was a little longer...;)....it's hard Not to browse!!! When I eventually got to the supermarket hubs was at the till!!!!
