The sun did come out but it's gone back in again, it didn't like the look of the clouds:heehee:
Thick cloud and a moderate breeze from the west temp 11c feels like 7c

It is sunny and 4f -15c. The guessers are telling us that an Alberta clipper is going to be blowing across the top of the province after the weekend. And this will draw warm air up from the states giving us a couple of days where the temperature will creep a little above freezing.

The clipper is going to be a big system so it should be interesting. As a point of reference, the northern part of the province is about 5x the size of England.

We can use a bit of warmer air to compact the snow so we have some place to pile it come the next snow storm. :blue thumb:

Blowing a gale here. Smashed up a 4ft trellis fence and stripped felt from my workshop roof. Cold frames and plants have survived but the high winds are forecast to continue for the next three days, though not as strong as today.

It has been pretty wild here too, all trains and metro are cancelled, roads and bridges closed and the air is full of flying things. A quick look tells me that we have acquired a can of Stella (empty), various cardboard boxes, a doormat, and a face mask (used) in the front garden under the Hydrangea.

To add to Arwen's harvest of two roof tiles, some bits of concrete fittings or whatnot came down this morning. Cast iron bird feeder is now catering for ground feeding specimens and the neighbour's trampoline looks very artistic. My obelisk with Climbing Iceberg Rose is a goner.

Thankfully the storm has not caused any loss of life here, we'll all fix the damage when it's over. Next blast is expected tomorrow.

And frankly, I shouldn't complain. In Finland this storm is expected to bring up to 40cm snow overnight even in the south. Very pretty, but a tad inconvenient.

Wow @Selleri that is some wind to shift cast iron:yikes:

We don't know our new neighbour's yet as they gutted the place immediately after buying it and are now having contractors do the entire interior but I think they better do something about their downspout too. That is a looong icicle!

Just had another weather warning for Storm Corrie, due to hit us tomorrow PM. Epicentre is a bit further north this time so hopefully, we will be okay. A woman was killed this morning in Aberdeen by a falling tree and a 9-year-old was killed in Staffordshire this afternoon.

We are having a lull before part two arrives tomorrow.

Meanwhile, in Finland, the storm is whacking down as a very heavy snowing. This photo is of a popular skiing track in Helsinki, nowadays often technosnowed thanks to the climate change. No need for snow cannons today
