I am with Plusnet, I was paying £43.50 for landline, broadband, YouView TV and free evening and weekend calls. I went online to my account early January, I knew my current contract had expired. I have signed up for exactly the same on a 18 month contract for £27.50

Don't get me started on broadband. We have two options, one is dial up and the other is virgin media. The perks of living in a private lane! Only VM bothered to install the infrastructure so we have to pay whatever they charge, currently around 55 quid and just had the letter putting it up another 3.

Thought that some blue berries thrown on top of my breakfast oats would be nice. I had to pick myself up off the floor when I found out that they were £1.99 for a small punnet.

Eating well is not cheap is it?

Agree! In the winter we go for frozen "perfectly imperfect" bags, about £2/ kg.

Fresh blueberries are not a common fruit to grow and are probably flown in from South Africa or the likes. Probably only suitable for decorative purposes... Aldi does something at nearly reasonablish price but they are still a very expensive fruit. :wallbanging:

Just seen on another site someone asking for recommendations for a Chiropractor.
Lots of people saying so and so is great, I've been going there for years.:roflol:

Cant be that good if you have to keep going back.

Or am I missing something here.
If they cant cure the problem in half a dozen visits then the chances are they are never going to.

You've got that right. And did you notice which vehicle manufacturers are having a hard time getting electronic parts with the blame being put on the Xi virus and supply chain issues. Our Ford, GM, Chrysler, BMW, and Jaguar dealerships have loads of vehicles waiting for chips in order for repairs to be completed. And their assembly plants are almost at a standstill waiting for the same type of parts.

We should never, ever have allowed the manufacturers to get so cheap as to export all of this manufacturing offshore (China) because it was good for their bottom line. Now the goods are almost being held for ransom!

We (UK) need to plough on with more renewable energy sources - we're a group of islands for goodness sake - off shore wind farms are a no brainer. Or more nuclear power stations.

We don't want to be like Germany - 80% reliant upon Russian gas for its energy needs. I think we are 3% reliant.

I think we could come a cropper if we put too much into wind farms, but you are right IMO regarding getting small nuclear plants up and running, I still think we are a long way off getting the gas problem sorted.
I can remember many years ago, electricity was way too expensive to heat your house with and everyone turned to gas, then north Sea gas .

Still dont think electric powered heat pumps are the way to go though without them becoming more efficient, or do we just use three or four of them for the average house?

@pete a political point we can agree on! Why the heck we enrich people who's values we do not share, and who have no interest in any real kind of partnership: Russia, China and Saudi Arabia... what have we done???
