Many folk are using the Air Sourced heat pumps, more like a large air conditioning unit in reverse rather than the Ground Sourced pumps.

Always thought Hydrogen was the way forwards too, But most Hyrdogen in use today is sourced from Coal ?! - yes, could not believe it until we saw it on tv, its known as Blue hydrogen, Green hydrogen is extracted from Water but a lot more expensive and little used.

The documentary showed how Austrailia produces lots of Blue and sends it to China, but China uses it without incurring any carbon footprint because that stays with Aus, the producer.
Same as the US BioMass scandle they use at the UK Drax power station !

They reckon that converting/utilising the gas distribution system to hydrogen will take until at least 2030 but more likely 2040. I'll wait. :old: Do centenarians get a discount? :heehee:

Heat alarm triggers at 135°C. Even global warming should keep us below that.

We have mains interlinked smoke alarms, coming up to 10 years old when we are supposed to replace. Out of interest I googled and blimey they are very expensive now! Don't have much choice I think I have to use the same brand (Kidde) as what's already there, or maybe I can change the whole lot to a cheaper brand.

Air source is also out of reach to the average bloke in the street if you add on all the other costs necessary.

If that's the case Jocko then I'll leave the heat alarm in it's box. Or is it required and will trigger if there's a fire?

Here's a link to the range - not cheap are they?
