Sunshine here too  but I've been clearing up the damage in the garden. When I got home at 11 p.m. last night I was able to drag three wheelie bins out of the flower beds and store them safely. This morning I have found another one 100ft down the garden :hate-shocked:

Beautiful start to our day, cloudless blue skies and full sunshine. What a difference a day makes!!!!

Winds finally eased around 3am this morning. I haven't yet been out to see if there's any damage, hopefully not as we did do a check on things yesterday and moved potted plants and various items to more sheltered spots.:fingers crossed:

Dudley pretty well passed us by. Never heard a thing all night and no damage this morning.
Bitterly cold at present with bright sunshine and a stiffish wind. No snow is forecast until tomorrow morning.

Its not that with me, I dont mind a few bugs, its more about making life difficult for yourself when you have a perfectly good kitchen indoors.

So Im convinced now, cook it indoors and take it outside to eat it, and im keeping the barbeque for the ducks to swim in.

Can't wait to eat outside again, we normally eat all our meals out there. I suppose it depends a lot on the type of food you eat too. We can easily cook meat, fish and many veg on the BBQ then its just a case of either soaking some cous cous or plugging in the rice cooker ( does pasta too) to the outside plug and adding a salad....done!!

We should think ourselves lucky over here...if you don't scream and flap about our bugs are mostly pretty harmless.

Have to agree with you on that, Pete. Indoors then out, cuts out the immediate weather change that dampens spirits and anything not undercover.

Spent some days one summer building a brick barbecue, cos you’ve got to have one with this notion of humid summer evenings to chill outside with some wine and the waft of charcoal burning. Like that ever materialised, demolished the summer after to expand the strawberry patch.

The only exception is frying kippers, which is done outside under suitable cover if need be on the camping stove. A true, if boney, delicacy round these parts, that’s done indoors to your regret afterwards. Smell just won’t go away.
