Just started to rain and the wind is picking up. Forecast is 70mph here although the warnings are very confusing from the BBC, it's either Amber or Red or both.

I don't want either of them :frown:

That must have been very frightening for you in '87 @Upsydaisy I'm glad it was all right in the end xx

I hope the damage isn't too severe @Jiffy

Well here it isn't too bad at the moment, just a few blustery gusts and some rain, but I suspect it will get worse.
We are on the boundary between red and amber so I shall expect the worst.
There are power cuts in places just a few miles away. I hope the people going out to repair any damage to lines will stay safe.
I have the fire on low so if the power does go off I will still have heat, and I have filled two thermos flasks with boiling water so I'll be able to have a cup of something warm.
I bought matches yesterday so I'll be able to light some tee lights of it goes off after dark.

I hope you will all be safe and that it passes over very soon ...

Storm Eunice - we have a light breeze and drizzle. All the schools are closed and the Council has suspended some services. We don't mess about here in North Wales - we shut down completely if a flurry of snow is forecast.

Once again the storm has failed to materialise here. A smattering of overnight snow which has quickly melted.

It's like an express train howling around the house. Slightly amusing the wind has blown our granddaughter's toy car from the side and it's trundling back and forward on the patio on its own. Less amusing parts of the fascia have blown off although they were in very poor condition:

The storm has seriously picked up here in Nottinghamshire, the last 15 minutes have been pretty intense! Looking out the window, I see people are still casually riding about on bikes, how daft can you get? :dunno::wallbanging:

                            Thank you Michael. xx

Well done on your forward thinking, you are well prepared...were you a Boy Scout by any chance? :)

We have charged everything up that requires it and fortunately still have some little gas bottles to fire up our old camping stove...so :fingers crossed::fingers crossed:.

We are on a Red warning now and it's really loud and scary the winds are touching on 80 mph in our postcode area!!. We've had random objects from the nearby allotments flying across our garden and up our lane . The horses in the fields opposite us have been behaving manic and are frantically galloping around...poor things.

We had to brace ourselves and battle the elements to check and tighten up the caravan cover and the car cover too. Pleased to see that one of the security cameras solar panels that hubs had to place on an extended arm is so far holding up....amazingly!! Hubs also quickly added more bolts to a piece of fencing.... but in such winds it's proving a losing battle...it's our only piece of fencing by our greenhouse and it's almost down.
Greenhouse has a lot of broken panels and one of our big coldframes has a torn cover now. Had to go round the garden retrieving various items that escaped from the greenhouse via the now gaping window frames!!. Bird bath is rolling around the garden..probably broken too.
Lots of my tall perennial Wallflowers that are loaded with buds are laying prone on the ground..not sure if they are irretrievably damaged or not, will check on them later as it's proving difficult to stand up out there let alone walk around to check things .

                            Keep safe everyone.:spinning:
