It’s pretty well documented. Whether you think it’s good or bad is up to you. But NATO campaigns are well documented.

The one I saw up close was the bombing of Serbia, immediately ending the national uprising in the streets against Milosevic which looked like it was about to succeed in forcing him to stand down. For example.

I think you must be listening to a very different BBC than the one I see.
Admittedly I dont listen to the radio programmes I only watch the TV, but it always seems biased to me and its mostly run and manned by some very left thinking people.

The problem is that their behaviour backed up the allegation that they were severely left leaning, and they have been caught doing so on more than one occasion, from the 'selective' omission of a statement David Cameron made when Boris was being accused of breaking international law, right through to the more recent harping on about cake and wine whilst simultaneously ignoring Chinese Spies being in our parliament and donating £650k to Barry Gardner and of course the prelude to the events we are seeing unfolding in Ukraine now.

Their real issue, however, has been continuing to remove money from people under threat of jail sentence, even if those people do not wish to partake of their services whilst at the same time preaching at anyone who clung on trying to watch, at every opportunity, followed up by things such as spaffing £87 million on a new set for Eastenders.

I know that’s a popular view: but I’m also aware that my views are also now fairly prominent.

Who do you find to be on the left there? Genuinely interested.

A good point was made previously that if they ever had a journalist half as far to the left as Andrew Neill is to the right, we would be deafened by screaming conservative outrage. And he was by far from alone…

I think they are all Left thinking, Naga and whatever that bloke, (Charlie) who is always on the same time she is are both not impartial, some of the others do come over as a bit more normal but I think you have hit the button with Andrew Neil, why did he leave? Probably because he didn't want to tow the official line. I think he then left the channel he went to work for because they were too far right, I might be wrong.

I have no problem with left and right, I just have a problem with what comes over as not impartiality from what is supposed to be our official broadcaster.

He is so far right he is now working for Channel 4.... the channel he was quoted as saying was "the broadcast arm of the Guardian" - - he follows his wallet, nothing more.

Clearly they aren’t all left leaning…Michale Burke - proper right, and it showed; Paxman - small c conservative - and it shows; Laura Kuensberg - strongly anti-left, and it shows.

I don’t find Naga left at all though: calling Trump a racist or whatever it was she got into trouble for, was just accurate - that was truly weird. So Owen Jones is left - but the BBC wouldn’t have him in; likewise Amanda Marcotte. I think she is one of the best journalists in the world but again, the BBC would not be able to hire her. Though - and here’s imbalance if you like: the others I listed above were apparently fine.

No: I don’t find the BBC left at all. On the contrary in fact

Yes - he follows his wallet. And smart move by Channel 4 as they too are in the Government’s sights again because having any accountability for the Conservatives is just not acceptable

Are you suggesting he isn’t on the right?

Just weird how we see these people in differing ways, no point going on about it because we all have different perceptions of Left and Right I guess.:dunno:

The Bosnia campaign was about it. Other missions were anti-piracy, anti-terrorist and helping to train soldiers.

Well - that’s, I suppose, a view: but even if it were true (I wouldn’t agree but whatever) they have still been involved in disastrous deeply ill conceived military campaigns in Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq… which was my mate’s point.

Are you suggesting he isn't on the left? He is on whichever side he feels like being on, or more accurately who is filling his bank balance.

As for C4, they can't even hold themselves accountable let alone anyone else.

Was Afghanistan Syria and Iraq NATO conceived, I know some NATO countries were involved but I didn't think it was brought about by NATO.

My thinking was more that the US went in and dragged others in behind them.
