Hello and thanks for letting me join.

I'm Kate. I live on the East Yorkshire coast, near Hornsea. I'm mostly here for the tomato chat but I also grow just a few peppers, aubergines, beans, peas, courgettes and potatoes. For flowers, I like oriental poppies, violas and pinks.

Welcome @eatenbyweasels . As a relative newcomer myself, i have found this site a real mine of information with lots of helpful member input.

It is good to see a wide range of areas which people enjoy, and while i have been limited with growing edibles, i have had moderate success when i have tried. Chillis and Courgettes have been my favourites.

Hi, Sogni! I have only a small garden, but I try to pack as much in as possible.

Yes I do Kate but I don't 'do' edibles just tropicals and exotics as such. It is too much in the heat and locally grown food is cheap.

The family farm was on the edge of the flat bit, we had views across the Holderness plain to the 'lovely' cooling towers in Hull

Hi Mark. Due to my location/climate I probably won't be of much help ... but II am sure @pete and @JWK will be able assist.

"Was"? Did you sell up or fall in?

EDIT: Realised that you probably meant the inland edge, not the falling-in bit.
