Actually it got too hot sitting facing the Southern sun after 20 minutes so I came in as all was in order out there. Now it is clouded over again! T'other Half sweeping up the mess .:heehee:

I dont do ladders anymore but I dont actually mind the ladder as such its that bit getting off the ladder and onto the roof and worse still getting back on the ladder if its not tied.

Took the afternoon off for a boozy lunch with a colleague but also have time now to fix up a few bits. After the storms last week I took the fleece off the potatoes and moved over second sowing of grass seed between the path treads. Birds got the first lot. 1 tray of 3 broad beans planted out last week seem to be ok…waiting for the beans planted direct to show - presumably a couple of weeks yet.

And I’ve been wondering if the root ginger would come again after the big cold weather die back. Apparently so! . That’s definitely a green bud!

Popped to the GC this morning for a couple of bags of well rotted manure. Picked up a couple of snowdrops too. Potted on cuttings taken last year that had rooted well. Lavatera, penstemon and honeysuckle. Cut back some perennials in the borders and then planted 2 roses, William Shakespeare and James L Austin and a Paeonia 'Sarah Bernhardt' my first Peoni.

I shredded the last of my cutback material today and spread it on the allotment paths and between the trees.
Almost looks like a small, very small, woodland area now as I've moved some bluebells from the garden over there and have some polyanthus, celandines and miniature daffodils.

I took advantage of a sunny morning to cut back the Fuchsias in the front garden and then I made a start on the Clematises down the back. Still lots of Clematises to do ...

We had a beautiful day today so it was planting bulbs, planting a couple of shrubs that just arrived, painting fences and I completed my screen for the refuse bins. Or it will be once the Campsis grows up!
