I hope so FC but it's an issue if any aircraft get too close. Britain is cautious to apply a no fly zone here for the Russians because we wouldn't dare fire on one of theirs. Putin has got the West running scared at this point.
Well... thinking about it. Given the choice, I know in which society I prefer to live and grow my kids in.
I see that Volodymyr has said that Ukraine is fighting alone without the support of the more powerful countries. I'm not so sure that this is the case - I reckon it's a ploy to put off that maniac Putin. There are rumours that Putin's supporters in the Kremlin are not at all happy with his warmongering. I wonder if he will be around much longer?
I think even Putin knows his days are numbered, that is why he is doing this - slowly but surely his people have been losing faith in him and they know that he has done everything he can to cling onto power at any cost. Hell, he even changed the law so he could have more terms in office. In his head, the best way to become the hero is to essentially re-form what was the Soviet Union and he is hell bent on doing so. The worry is that he is so hell bent on it, he won't care about the consequences and if he were to be properly cornered in the way that Hitler was, he is one that would be liable to release nukes as he would know he would not be around to live with the consequences.
Let's hope those turning the simultaneous keys have a good head on their shoulders and refuse the order, should it come to it.
Russia’s media-monitoring agency Roskomnadzor has ordered media outlets to delete reports using the words “assault,” “invasion,” or “declaration of war” to describe Russia’s massive, unprovoked military incursion into neighboring Ukraine. Won't make any difference - the world can clearly see what's happening.
International banking system SWIFT - last objection to booting out Russia about to disappear: Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orbán is ready to support tough sanctions on Moscow over aggression against Ukraine, including Russia's disconnection from SWIFT system. and more countries closing air space to Russia.
Therein lies the worry - almost everything nowadays is so polarised... you are either one thing or another and nowhere in between. The same is almost certainly true of the Russian people; there will be many who are strongly against Putin, and also many who are strongly pro-Putin (to the point of blind devotion)
