Sometimes knee replacement can seem the better option, as my sister says she is now completely pain free....but very stiff. I ,hopefully, will work through this initial stiffness in time but will I be pain free.???...hmmmmm. We will see at the moment I want to keep my knee..I've grown quite attached to it!!:heehee:

@Upsydaisy glad that your appointment went well.

Just fed the Christmas cake, not doing much else, just watching YouTube a lot.

The set of exercises are done. Sorted out the clean laundry in ironing and non ironing piles and put away the latter. Cleaned the two upstairs bathrooms. Just having a cuppa before I tackle the hall ( had planned to do that yesterday) will wash the hall and entrance lobby floors. Hopefully I get to do 10 mins on my bike before main meal at 12:30.:fingers crossed:. Afterwards I want to get a couple of hours of pottering in the garden + some seed sowing before a leisurely stroll up to our neighbours farm and back. Video calling our brood tonight too.:hapydancsmil:.That's today sorted. :blue thumb:

Walked a little further than the farm so all in all 0.77 miles...not that far, but far enough for now. :blue thumb:

Roughly....the consultation doesn't know our lane, he just said pace yourself and do what is comfortable and as I have already walked to the farm I thought as I was feeling good and the sun was shining I would try a little further , it's 0.52 to the farm and back...so I only did a few more steps.:dbgrtmb: I definitely won't..well I physically can't, walk our whole lane yet.

Hmm, @Upsydaisy I'm guessing only tomorrow will tell if you did right or pushed a little.

I've got the breads baked for my company to take home, and been busy doing pretty much nothing!

Went in to start serging a top and then thought, nope not in the mood. Then something else, same thing.

So I'm sat here listening to the television  Lazy Lori...

                  I'm good Lori :dbgrtmb:

Don't forget that I've now dropped 2 sets of the recovery exercises. I did 10 mins on the bike which was very comfortable on the lowest setting. The walk was easier that a set of the exercises actually.:):blue thumb:

Please do follow the doctor's orders. When I did my back in some years ago, there was a kidney concern so my doctor advised me to drink a lot. I have followed her advise scrupulously ever since.

When did ,25 (ie, a quarter of a mile, roughly 500 to 600 steps) become a few steps?

He never actually said how far to walk and our neighbours farm is very near!!

I did ask him what he thought was a good walk to start off with and he said a walk of up to 5- 8 lampposts away from the house was a good rough guage......I told him that we didn't have any street lights!!:heehee: He looked at my notes ( for my address) and then said ' you're No.2 so how about walking up to No 22 and back.... I then said to him ' well I may be No.2 but we are actually the 4th house along our lane and there's only a total of 6!!!:roflol:

He laughed and admitted defeat and said to do what I felt was comfortable but not to return to my daily 3+ miles until I see him in May. I know full well that at this very moment in time I couldn't walk the length of our entire lane....yet. I'm adamant that I'm going to recover properly as I need my knees to be fully functioning for many years to come. :dbgrtmb:

Today I went to see the Orthopaedic consultant and after X-rays, he has decided to replace my hip. I then went for a pre-surgical assessment. He says I will get a letter confirming I am on the list and I will get my surgery within twelve weeks. He says that is a lie. Hopefully twelve months but no promises. I have suffered for twenty years. Another one or two are hardly here or there.
