I've been working on weeding as the soil is nearly perfect for it. We have also cut down almost all our grasses and the bin men took six wheelie bins stuffed full of them yesterday. Fortunately for us our neighbours don't use their bins this time of year and they always let me use them. :blue thumb:

The last two very sunny days we have had millions (we're pretty sure it must be that many :rolleyespink:) of these extremely tiny midge type flying things hovering in the bright sunlight. They are almost solid clouds of them but we can't see them in the shady areas. Either they're too small to see without the spotlight of the sun or they don't like the shade. :noidea: We don't have any standing water anywhere nearby

Upsy, everything is looking good, but what is that red and white post thing in the middle of the first photo ... or is it my eyes and it is obvious?

Okay. We have three. Two mounted in walls and one stand alone tap on the lower dining patio which I camouflaged with artificial ivy.

One of ours is wall mounted, have to say that one isn't quite so obvious when everything in the border is in full growing mode. We had to cover most of the tap because it's become a favourite perch for the birds and we get fed up with bird poop over it....we've had to get a covered soap dish too. They have the whole garden to do their business in why choose the spot where we wash our hands!!:wallbanging:

Seeing as how it is still below freezing and the ground is frozen down about a foot, I shall continue on with inside "gardening". After sowing a dozen hanging pots with flower seeds yesterday, I had 4 l pots left and this morning those will be sown with chillie seeds. The chillie plants are not huge so the hanging pots are the perfect size. I would have sown them much sooner but I just found the seeds last night!
