I just tried out different functions on the site & I came across these big ones.

The format of this board is not much different to one I used to post on for years so it's a case of exploring things.

I finished off digging in the last of the green manure, it's not a large area.

Found enough spuds for my dinner, ones I'd missed last year .

Today I cut back hard a Dragon Tree that my wife bought at least 15 or more years ago. This is the third year in a row I've pruned it but the hardest by far! The other years I've managed to root cutting taken from the prunings but they have been more "tip" cutting than anything else. But to day I cut back the 4 or 5 stems by about half - that means each branch as been reduce by 2 or 2 1/2 feet! I really hope it recovers from such drastic pruning as I would hate myself for pruning it so hard.

On the plus side I got about half a dozen cutting which, after cutting back to around 6ins in length, I put in a jar of water to root. I've found they root very well doing this & grow on to make good plants. :dbgrtmb:

In all these years I've only ever used our usual one, ever since it was launched, never felt the need, I was happy where I was, not finding it easy but I will persevere, admittedly I am in gardening groups on FB but lets face it, they're are basically chatrooms not gardening forums, completely a different thing altogether....Not even sure if this reply will end up in the right place...

I downed tools in the office and picked up my spade. Glorious afternoon digging in green manure and prepping the veg beds. Moved a few plants, took some cuttings and generally enjoyed being outside in a t-shirt and in the sun :)

We received our Mistletoe berries today so my wife and I went out and festooned the apple tree. My wife says that Vaseline on her hands made the seeds less likely to stick to her and more likely to stick to the branches.

Well I finished the border and worked out whereabouts the Dahlias will eventually go...so long as they all germinate that is. :fingers crossed:

Suppose to have heavy rain tomorrow so I will rest my knee up as it's done a fair bit of bending ...which is all good but does cause a bit of aftermath niggles.

                        IMG_20220310_162420_hdr.jpg

The upturned flower pot is home to ( :fingers crossed:) hopefully the 1st Dahlia as I planted a bit of a tuber last autumn ( probably not the right time) that snapped of another plant. We'll have to wait to see if it's alive and kicking.:fingers crossed:

Thanks...it always starts off neat but I tend to forget how certain plants spread out. I usually refer to the previous summer's pics but now of course I've pulled up some of the greedy perennials. My plans never really turn out as planned!:heehee:
