I just put together my new garden Peacock and T'other Half is putting together my new static bike. The Peacock was being sent by Amazon Spain via DHL Spain and the bike by Envialia Portugal. Both arrived together an hour ago (at an agreed meeting place as they would never find us) by a guy in a silver van! Nothing so odd as deliveries here. :rolleyespink: My old static bike will go to a charity shop tomorrow.

That's good that you've got both of them and at the same time too.:)
Don't you get any deliveries or post to the house at all?

No. Our post box is in the little village of Algoz at the Post Office, 7kms south of us. We could have a box at the end of the lane but if you get anything other than a letter they put a card in and you have to go to the Post Office anyway. Ours would be Sao Bartolomeu de Messines, 7kns north of us as we are in that Parish. We chose to have a box in Algoz as we tend to go that way for whatever we are doing. We don't get letters only the odd statement.

We took Toby to the vet today to get his booster jab. Because we have no history for him we had to start afresh so that was a first jab then this booster three weeks later.

Returned from a two nights trip to London. What a lovely city it is, so big and so small at the same time :)

We got all our wish list tick boxes ticked. The Museum of Natural History still has The Whale, the dinos (nowadays with acknowledgement to Mary Anning), the hummingbirds cabinet and the shocking display of severed heads of birds (much appreciated by the youngsters), and the British Museum still had the lovely Assyrian smiling kings, queens and servants long gone now.

Ate Foreign Food (Tartare beef, vegan mains and the sort) and thoroughly enjoyed the tube. It's very much like playing a game, choose your destination, plan the changes, walk through the twisting passages to the next connection. :)

A lovely trip, and also lovely to be back home :)

A nightmare for me starting with the raw beef then traveling on the Tube. London in general actually! However, pleased you had a good visit.

Sorted out a couple of trays of Night Scented Stock and placed my cobbled together obelisks next to the patio area. Expecting some tasteful trailing Surfinia and Petunia from Parkers in the next month or so - so some of these will be going in the obelisk baskets. If you look at the back you can see the first Daffodil to come out.

Today I went to visit my daughter, the first time since early summer last year. The thing is, she only lives 33 miles away!
Last summer we were in the throws of decorating the house, closing up the old house and moving. Then we got our work done for the new kitchen to go in. Add the fact she works in Dundee and doesn't get home until late and I don't like driving in the dark, what with my old eyes and the super bright lights of all the new cars.
On her days off she usually has things to do. Anyway, we just never met up. Tomorrow is her birthday and today she was off so we made a point of visiting.
I wished her Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and Happy Birthday!

I had a disaster in the Kitchen. I roasted some Peppers in a Bacofoil tray and it leaked............... a smoke filled Kitchen. My job for this evening is to clean the oven. The dinner was nice though.
