    Yellow Epimedium is just starting but the other colours are always later

    Looks like Aquilegia but is a Thalictrum that grows up to 10ft tall

            Thanks, that is only the start of them and some kids in the past have called it Fairyland. We have all colours of Cowslips from the traditional yellow through to deep crimson. Over the years they have been rather promiscuous and we now have a lot of orange and different shades of pale red. The Primroses have spread throughout the flower beds and those are much more advanced and in larger clumps, probably because they don't have to compete with the grass and other plants. In the summer we get a lot of Bee orchids and Pyramidal orchids. The area doesn't get mowed until August apart from some paths through it - to the compost heaps and bonfire.

            I'll have to ask the head gardener when she wakes up as I can't remember the name :doh: :old:

              @Balc The boss says it's Armeria maritima - sea thrift. :blue thumb:
