Trouble with holding off getting an EV is that by the time you get round to getting one I foresee most of the financial advantages will be gone.

There will come a point where all the taxes, road tax and fuel tax, will have to be applied in some way to EVs as well.

I will not be getting a EV anytime soon. Governments should pay more attention to the wealthiest, they are the ones responsible for climate change.

It was reported a few years ago from numerous organisations that 10% of the worlds population were responsible for 50% of global emissions, the wealthiest.

I haven't read the article but that doesn't surprise me - but it's only statistics. :dunno: Apparently the top 1% of people pay 30% of all income tax revenue. It doesn't mean a great deal just as a statistic.

Probably in the big scheme of things and bearing in mind how many really poor countries there are in the world we, as in us, are the richest.
Compared to some people in India, for example, I'm as good as a millionaire.

I've got that too @shiney and I find it dangerous, it's so loud it makes me jump. I think it's more likely to cause an accident than help avoid one. Mine isn't over sensitive but I'll see if it can be turned off. The other annoying thing that I've now got used to ignoring, is the display that tells me what gear to change into. If I don't know by now then I shouldn't be driving a car. :frown:

Sorry too @Malus Aforethought. I wasn't suggesting that, but picking up on your point about how difficult it is to run one with the lack of charging facilities. Until this improves an electric car will be a non starter (forgive the pun) for many people.

The steering straighter you mention @shiney, that must be a real pain as I spend most of my driving concentration on avoiding potholes especially those big ones on the edges of country roads.

Same problems here. One of our roads was on the news lately when Rod Stewart filled in the awful potholes in his road.

This video is showing most of the road after he filled it in but there were still loads of smaller potholes left. The man from the council, in the video, says you shouldn't do it yourself but contact the council and they'll get it sorted. It was first reported two years ago! They're building a new road and motorway junction and widening and resurfacing another road only half a mile away. They've been working on that for two years and it wouldn't take much to just pop down the road with all the machinery.

Whoops! Forgot to put the video in :rolleyespink:
