How long does your BOP flower for and do you get more than one crop of flowers each year?

Months, but it crops more than once. Going back through my albums the only months I don't have birds is June/July/August.

True, Upsy, but there can be periods between the flushes.

Not many plants you haven't heard of Michael.

 See, I leave those months for you Pete,

I like Salvia coccinea but it is only an annual here but clearly hardy there.
A timely reminder for me to dig out the seeds that I have somewhere for the tall form which can grow up to a metre and a half.

I lost mine a couple of years ago and it was very slow growing here too.
                    Is your purple one I.cyaneum?

Not much earlier than the Cercis around here.

I think so but it was not labelled. Someone told me it was a "Purple Paradise". About 14 years ago I had one labelled I cyanea (which I lost) but it was a different colour ...

April is here and the showers will be far and few between. However, there is some colour.

Hibiscus rosa-sinensis coming into bloom on the dining patio under the Brugmansia (these are in the ground).

You have some colourful plants in your garden flowering early @Victoria (but probably not early for Algarve)
It's nice to see that big Shrimp plant, I had one as an indoor plant once (can't grow them outside here) but you never see them for sale these days.

Thank you Michael. They bloom almost year round here, sometimes taking a break, in particular the Ice Daisies. I have a Yellow Shrimp Plant I am starting off so looking forward to its shrimps.
